Pre-emptive leak in works...
I am betting that right now as you read this, Karl Rove is right now working on a plan to pre-emptavely leak the vote fraud story.
To manage the message and minimize the damage, it’s the oldest trick in the book.
Just like after 9-11 with the New York Post (Bush knew)headline, expect a similar situation again. We both know that this is Rove’s style. And if we can raise the conciousness of the public, and be ready to fight back against the lives, perhaps we can stop it before they get started.I am realing between hope and despair. There is the hope, on the one hand, that we can stop these monsters.
But there is the despair of the war in Iraq, and how morally wrong it is, and how far down the road we have already gone. If something doesn’t happen, like a bloodless coup, led by Colin Powell and supported by true American patriots in the military, I don’t know how you will get the reins out of neo-conservative thugs.
I wouldn’t put it past them to start a cival war by resorting to enlisting their Brownshirt supporters in armed insurrection, in support of their president, who was ordained by god. In other words, I guess God must be a computer hacker.

1. I know I have posted about this ad nauseum, but...
Edited on Mon Nov-08-04 03:05 PM by Ewan I Bushwackers
we are constantly in the position of REacting to Rove's machinations. Rather than attempting to respond to each of his ploys, we should focus on undercutting Rove's political effectiveness.

For crying out loud, he is ONE MAN. He has instilled fear in everyone such that no one is willing to even contemplate the man's vulnerabilities.

There are many of us--only one Rove. Forget his ploys. Discredit Rove himself.

5. Rove isn't our problem. He's the mainstream media's problem.
That's the lesson of "Rathergate."

We're not afraid of him. It's the US networks that might yet do work that resembles investigative journalism that are made skittish by his discrediting tactics.

And he's not just "one man." He owns the right's echo chamber.

7. You are right.
While Rove enjoys his moment in the sun, there is nothing he can do to avoid going down in history as, at best, a master propagandist and dirty trickster. Maybe that's his goal in life, but everything I read about him suggests that his tactics are all about demanding respect, and he's never learned that that's not how you get it. A Rosa Parks, with no power or machine, is one hundred times the person that a Karl Rove is, and that will never change among people with integrity.

Forget trying to figure him out. We already know what he'll do: lie, cheat, and steal. The rest is just the details.

8. I will explain why Rove IS our problem.
It is because he is the political strategist AND policymaker.

Who do you think it was who had the audacity to steal 2 elections? What do you think he was doing when he worked the phones in the Roosevelt Room on Election night while Karen Hughes was breaking the news to Bush that he lost?

Who do you think is behind the newly proposed constitutional amendment banning gay marriage? And why do you think he chose just now to unveil it?

Without Rove's guidance, * would not know how to use toilet paper.

Without Rove's vicious and hysterical attacks, the media would not be as afraid to report accurately--and the info would be getting out to the public (some of it, at least).

People in Washington fear him and that is how he gets away with all of these dirty tricks. If we can distract him, he will not be able to devote his full (alleged) strategic genius to destroying our democracy.

The best apart about it, is that he provides a single target on which we can focus our anger. (Don't let his goons distract you from Rove.)

Turd Blossom is about to undergo the public humiliation of his life; he just doesn't realize it yet.

that turns to kindling. I know you guys will delete my message but there is dirt under his nails. Believe me I love all honest people with all proclivities but he is one of them secret life types that one finds only in ultra-con circles. Expose the damn guy already.

Edited for spelling

2. Leak will be "Secret investigation into Democratic Vote Fraud"
That is the Rovian style. Look to see what your own fault/vulnerabilty is, then pre-emptively accuse your opponents of the same. And it's very successful, so long as you have a compliant media.

Dick Morris Calls for Probe Into Exit Poll 'Scandal'

Renowned pollster Dick Morris is calling for an investigation into early exit polls run by the Associated Press that wrongly called the election results for John Kerry and sent the stock market spiraling downward.

"Exit polls are almost impossible to get wrong this way," Morris said in a column posted to the New York Post's Web site early Wednesday morning.

12. I don't know if it can be done ...
since our side is so cut out of the media, but we need to find a way to discredit Rove. It would be the Holy Grail. Then, anything coming out of the WH would just be seen as "Rovian spin -- pay no attention to it." Ahhh, if only we could ...
