BLUE FRIENDS, Not Blue States and Red States
When thinking about boycotts and such, remember that there are lots of Blue folks living in Red States, and vice versa. Boycotting a state just because 52% of the people voted for Bush is not an effective strategy.

We need to look at this like Blue Friends, not Blue States. We need to find a way to build networks of Blue Friends, blue families, blue cities, blue counties. Frantic plans for secession of Blue States are rather silly.

No, we need to adopt the idea of "Blue Friends," not Blue states. That has to be the concept we work with.

1. Boycott GOP friendly businesses
For example, MBNA gives 73% to Repukes. Working Assets does their credit cards through that bank. Any better VISA suggestions?

2. I have an MBNA card
and I would LOVE to get rid of it. However, I owe mucho money on it. Mostly from medical bills (my oh-so-wonderful military healthcare would not pay for it) and they wanted payment upfront. What the heck do I do??? It's bad enough the stupid bill keeps me up at night.

3. Try Co-op America's Green Pages Online business directory.
www.coopamerica.org
then click on Green Pages Online. It will give you listings by state so you'll see what businesses in "red" states we can all support.

Don't just boycott. "Buy"-cott goods from our allies in "red" states.

You may want to post a new thread on this site on the activism boards so that it doesn't get lost on this thread. Everyone ought to be made aware of it. Thanks.
