Predictions for '08

A colleague is making a list to post on his door. I've given him my predictions:

Mark Warner, Governor of Virginia
(possible running mate: Senator Tom Harkin, D-Iowa)

Tom Vilsack, Governor of Iowa
(possible running mate: Senator Joe Biden, D-Delaware)

Bill Nelson, Senator, D-Florida
(possible running mate: Senator Evan Bayh, D-Indiana)


All the above are white, hetero males with nuclear families. As far as we know, they are all good Christians, and none of their wives have ever had abortions. Although none speak with a twang, they still have four years to practice. While qualified, women, people of color, non-Christians, and anyone who lives around the northeast or California, were left out.

1. No senators.

The appropriations bills in the Senate are waaay to easy to distort into candidate positions. It's how we got bit on the $87 billion, the weapons systems (that then-Sec'y of Defense Cheney RECOMMENDED), 350 votes for higher taxes, etc., ad nauseum.

I know and you know it's a bunch of bunk, but it sold well with ignorant voters and we just can't give the Mepubs ANYTHING to work with.
