First, I live in NH, and this was the first I had heard of this. I can't find any news report that corroborates it, and last I looked, the State Department doesn't work on Sunday.
There ARE recounts to go on, but they're limited to the House and Senate races. Perhaps that's what they're talking about, but nothing I can find about the presidential race.
The two major papers are the award-winning Concord Monitor, which is usually quite balanced and trustworthy, and The Union Leader (a right-wing rah-rah God & Country newspaper in the state, if ever there was one). The Union Leader does say this in today's issue...
Both the request and the check have to be filed with the Secretary of State's Office by 5 p.m. yesterday by law.
Assistant Attorney General Orville "Bud" Fitch said "At this point, we don't consider this a valid request."http://www.theunionleader.com/articles_showfast.html?article=46674It goes on to say three state Senate and 12 House races recounts were filed by the deadline, and
those recounts will begin next week.
It is not clear at this time whether or not those races involved eVoting machines or not, and even if they did, it may not matter if only the prez race was tinkered with.
In NH, by statute, recount requests in writing must be made by the first Friday following the election, must be paid for in advance, and if properly filed, recounts will begin the following Wednesday.
