I have a suggestion for the Electoral Vote Count on Dec 10
Last time the Congressional Black Caucus was left without a signature when they wanted to protest the vote. This time I can see some possibilities in getting a signature

Tom Daschle - what a way to stick a shiv in the back of the GOP on his way out the door.

Bob Graham and Fritz Hollings....DITTO

Jim Jeffords - independent and no friend of Bush.

If we email and call and fax these guys and copy to the CBC perhaps we can let our wishes be known. If there are still irregularities in the vote, and you KNOW there will be, we owe it to the 55 million who voted for Kerry and we owe it to the country to make this a visible vote of no confidence for this administration.

Just a thought folks. What do you think.

5. I know I know
But he is no longer politically viable he's got nothing to lose. Neither do Hollings and Graham...well maybe Graham does. Jeffords, he don't owe the GOP SHIT!

2. I agree.
It would make more sense coming from some of their constituents, but the rest of us can call, fax and e-mail, too.

Giving a few specific examples of irregularities in their own districts might help, too.

3. It's worth a shot. Give me a list of names to add to my site if you think
of any more beyond these.

9. Edwards won't
He needs to keep his political viability in case he runs for Prez in 2008

13. Probably but it's silly. We no longer have viability!
Unless we count the votes!

8. Problem is - vote is 50 to 50 with f'u*cheney casting the
tie breaker!

Before, Gore would have cast the tie breaking vote and he didn't think that was right thing for him to do.

We want to spotlight before the Nation our opposition on the day the count becomes official

11. My fantasy for the electoral count
is that the Electors vote for Kerry.

They are under no legal obligation to vote for the person they're sent to vote for, right? So that is my fantasy. The electors turn on Bush and vote for Kerry. Pipe dream, I know.

21. What's the point of having people show up then?
Seems like a worthless middle step.

Is that left over from when there were no phones or something?

12. just a little correction on the Electoral College Dates:
* December 13, 2004 - Meeting of Electors:
The electors in each State meet to select the President and Vice President of the United States. The electors record their votes on six "Certificates of Vote," which are paired with the six remaining original "Certificates of Ascertainment." The electors sign, seal and certify the packages of electoral votes and immediately send them to the Federal and State officials listed in these instructions.

* December 22, 2004 - Deadline for Receipt of Electoral Votes:
The President of the Senate, the Archivist of the United States, and other designated Federal and State officials must have the electoral votes in hand.

* January 6, 2005 - Counting Electoral Votes in Congress:
The Congress meets in joint session to count the electoral votes (unless Congress passes a law to change the date).

16. GREAT
January 6th gives us more time to work on them. I'm sure at least a couple of them will be disgusted enough to do something about it by then.

17. Lieberman would not have signed for any number of reasons
Mostly that he knew he was going to run for President himself. A senator who is leaving office anyway will not be encumbered by those ideas.
