doesn't hold enough senators together to fillibuster Social Security privatization will you remain a Democrat? I really don't think that I could. The Democrats are so far to the right now that this would be one of the only issues they differ on. Taking a strong stand in favor of social security and EXPLAINING TO THE PEOPLE WHY, BEFORE BUSH FRAMES IT is the only chance we have at winning any seats in 06. You know they will bring up abortion and gay marriage right before the 06 elections. We need something like Social Security to use against them. The Democrats have tied their hands by backing so much of the GOP agenda I am not sure that they can even be effective in anything anymore. If they cave on this I go Green, end of story.

I'm actually probably closer to leaving than you. If Howard Dean gets the DNC chair I'll stick around through 2006. If not, I'm gone.
