Is Bush / Rove team worried about Economy, War, or Election ? |
|
With Bush making speeches before a union and talking about creating jobs, etc, one would have to think they are a little concerned. And with casualties mounting each day in Iraq, this must give them pause. They are not taking the election for granted, no matter what the polls say.
They seem to be more worried about the lack of jobs than about the war. However, if the casualties continue, the American people will eventually start to question the competence and/or the wisdom of the leaders of this war. Are they running scared? Not yet. But, they are close.

Remember DiIulio: "What you've got is everything—and I mean everything—being run by the political arm. It's the reign of the Mayberry Machiavellis."
This was of course before he issued his mysterious "retraction".

2. They know they are in big trouble.... |

I doubt if they thought the lack of jobs would be a topic to hit so fast and so hard. They don't have a clue what to do about it other than spin. The stock market going up means nothing if the ordinary citizen needs a job.

6. They are only worried they'll get caught rigging said "election" |
|
But I think that, given all the other fraud and theft they have performed, openly and shamelessly, they've got to be thinking the Emperor* could show up on the Senate floor branding a bloody machete in one hand and Fritz Hollings' severed head in the other and all the Press Whores would do is say,
"Doesn't he look manful!"
"He's so decisive and Churchillian!"
I wonder, other than that sort of frantic underpnning of thief-getting-caught-fear, whether they feel anything else.
