"Ex"-gay leader experiences 'moral fall'
Five years after starring in a national advertising campaign claiming gays can change their sexual orientation, Michael Johnson experienced a "moral fall" and left behind his ministries, two conservative Christian groups that worked with Johnson claimed this week...

"All, is close my eyes, click my hells and say 'I want to be straight'three times..."

Sorry, I no longer believe in fairy tales.

1. Oh, my.
"'I received a call from asking forgiveness as a Christian brother and asking for our prayers, indicating that he was working with his pastor and his church to try to find some restoration in his relationship with God,' said Buddy Smith, American Family Association administrator."

Yeah. Great. How about asking forgiveness of all the men you victimized by having sex with them and NOT disclosing your HIV status? Dumbass.

2. Just great
I hope Michael Johnston gets some help, because he's going to need it. Competent, professional help, that is. He's been sold a bill of goods and laid his very being on the line for a lie, and I would worry that he'll kill himself rather than face the truth about himself.

3. The poor man. How he must hate himself.
I hope he finds a nice partner, and makes peace with who he is, soon.

Bob: Then he'll tell us about his second terrible lapse into homo-sin-uality.

David: I love all of you! (blows a party noisemaker)

(David's head goes down near the groin of the man on the couch.)

Bob: And about his triumphant re-return to the fold.

David: It is an aberration, believe me, its not normal, you're making a choice.

Bob: Tell them.

David: You're making a choice. A terrible, terrible choice. We're here for you: Overcome.

Bob: Burton will tell us about his most recent lapse, and the one he has planned for August, which should take him to Rio De Janeiro. It'll be a glorifying hour of witness, I hope you'll join us. I'm Dr. Rudy Moore, now stay tuned for "The Bible Machine."

6. Oh That's Too Good
Wouldn't ya know it! When do I get to have a "moral fall"? And I'm trying so hard!

Anybody remember the old Onion piece about exgays where the "new wife" praises Jesus while reminiscing about fisting her girlfriend?

The other thing that always gets me is that the Kinsey Institute has for decades been offering CASH for anyone who can reliably prove that they've changed their orientation. All they have to do is get hooked up to plethysmograph and have their responses to a few naughty pics be measured. So far the "ex"gay Xtians have refused to prove it, and others who claim a change have failed.

Ah well maybe I'm biased. I'm thrilled outa my damn mind to be queer - even if it took a long time to reach that point. I wouldn't change it for a million dollars. I don't think I'm any worse/better off than straight people - all god's children got problems. Why would I (or anybody?) want to exchange problems I'm familiar with for a whole new set? Why would I wish to be other than I am? Like Popeye says "I yam what I yam!" My task in this life is to be the best damn ME I can be.

So these "exgay" people I just feel so much pity for. Maybe I could manage more compassion if in their Sickness/Sadness (for lack of better words) they didn't compound the problems I have to deal with.

8. Exposes the Nazi "ex-gay" movement...
they care more about the fact that Johnson was having sex with with men than the fact that he was an HIV+ man having sex with another person without protection and without disclosing with HIV status. That's the problem, and their failure to point this out only confirms that they hope that gay men die from AIDS. That's a fact. These fundamentalists love AIDS and don't want it to be conquered. They're "AIDS-loving homophobes and heterosexists."
