a couple quick questions about Dean

A week or so back I saw some of Dean's rally in NY(the one where he had them spraypaint graffitti on the wall to give him more street cred or something)

What was up with the baseball thing? He took out a bat and sang take me out to the ballgame. It wasn't explained, so I'm just curious about what that was all about.

Also, on a related note I was wondering what team Dean is a fan of because he's a transplanted New Yorker. Yankees, Mets, or Redsox.

When Dean announces a fundraising goal they have a baseball bat graphic on the web site. The bat "fills up" as the money pours in.

So far they've "brought out the bat" three times -- end of Q2, the Cheney Fundraiser and the Sleepless Summer Tour. I heard they will bring it out for the end of Q3 for the September to Remember.

They bring out the bat every fundraiser. Sometimes Cheney's oil drums are out to provide extra motivation.

The bat is a symbol used on the Dean website for fundraising events. During the Sleepless Summer Tour, the campaign challenged Dean supporters to raise one million dollars before the end of the 4 day tour.

Just prior to Dean taking the stage in NYC, the bat reached a million. They projected the website onto the screens next to the stage, and the rest is history...

Yeah imagine that, letting local artists in the cominuty design the backdrop, instead of having some new speak corproate slogan.

Can't get Dean on his positions or his record, so attack his backdrop.
