Doesn't bother me a bit. Proud of em.
But keep this in your response file for when the right starts griping about immigrants and foreigners and entitlements. They and their kids deserve health care, education, and the rest without being made to feel like they stole something.

there were whole brigades of German immigrants right off the boat and right out of the Prussian Army right into the US army. Hey it was a job.
There are some funny stories about them in the war. Usually involving being paroled on the battlefield.
