What the hell are they beaming about?
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 09:47 PM by nu_duer

MURDER, Inc.

U.S. President George W. Bush greets British Prime Minister Tony Blair (L) at the South Portico of the White House in Washington, November 11, 2004. In talks on Friday, Bush and Blair are expected to focus on the war in Iraq and the middle east peace process, a day after the death of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

3. Maybe some radical can take Arafat's place.
I don't care if you hate the guy, he actually was a moderate.

7. I don't hate Arafat,
never even met him. He did some good things for his people, also some bad things. Hopefully his successors will pick up on the good and jettison the bad.

8. There is a problem
and the Palestineans and Israelis are it. I didn't mean to suggest that ONLY the Palistineans are at fault.

6. Political capital
I watched a bit of their press conference. One reporter asked Bush about his plans, I think it was specifically about international participation in Iraq. He paused for a moment with a look on his face like some kid who's been asked a question by the teacher and doesn't know the answer. Then all of a sudden he gave this stupid smirk, and said something about "spending some of his capital" to bring other nations in.

My reaction was, that he was stumped, then suddenly remembered Rove had told him to talk about how he now has lots of "political capital" and was just so delighted with himself for remembering.

He actually seemed to think that the US election results gave him capital with foreign governments. :eyes:

9. That's his new favorite word - capital. He must have pulled out the
dictionary and figured out what it meant. Or else had someone read it to him! Disgusting human being.

10. Why are they beaming? Simple...
They don't have to fight the wars they make.
