If the new AG thinks the Geneva Convention is"Quaint"...
what does he think about the Constitution and OUR Civil Rights?

Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War

Do you think the new AG upheld the law?

1. Hell no
the Geneva Convention is toast. Don't expect any captured Americans to be spared torture of the most heinous variety, thanks to our lead.

2. I know!
The beheadings started coming much more often after the Iraqi POW torture story came out! That is what Bush calls supporting the troops? Morality? And to appoint the man that gave the go ahead to that, will really piss the world off! These people are up to no good! they want to abolish liberty and freedom! Even in this country I'm afraid! Democracy is "Quaint" to the PNAC!

3. Cutting off water....
http://www.genevaconventions.org/

Art. 54. Protection of objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population

2. It is prohibited to attack, destroy, remove or render useless objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population, such as food-stuffs, agricultural areas for the production of foodstuffs, crops, livestock, drinking water installations and supplies and irrigation works, for the specific purpose of denying them for their sustenance value to the civilian population or to the adverse Party, whatever the motive, whether in order to starve out civilians, to cause them to move away, or for any other motive.

Electricity is cut off because of damage to the main power station from the bombardment. The water supply has been cut off too. The roads are now heavily cratered.

http://www.uslaboragainstwar.org/article.php?id=7098

Water supplies to Tall Afar, Samarra and Fallujah have been cut off
during US attacks in the past two months, affecting up to 750,000
civilians. This appears to form part of a deliberate US policy of
denying water to the residents of cities under attack. If so, it has
been adopted without a public debate, and without consulting Coalition partners. It is a serious breach of international humanitarian law, and is deepening Iraqi opposition to the United States, other Coalition members, and the Iraqi interim government.

4. Fallout from U$
ignoring GC: usually troops stationed at U$ bases overseas were handed over to U$ military authorities when they commited a crime, misdemeanor, felony, etc. off-base. Now they are being tried in those countries and the book thrown at them. Of course, they get to learn the language of the country that way.

5. Someday someone will write the Rise and Fall of the fourth reich!
And I know whose picture will be on the front cover!

Out of all the things that bush has said so far would end the effusion of blood in Iraq, how many have worked so far? The fake election is not going to change anything either! Bush is fooling nobody but the fools!

6. I think he's less bad than Ashcroft...
Ashcroft's position on civil, constitutional, and detainee rights are all at least as extreme and Gonzales supports the right of young women to choose without needing to notify their parents along with class-based affirmative action.

I still would urge Congress to soundly condemn him and vote nay on his appointment.

11.  Promote the link
We were able to get over two hundred signatures in about 36 hours, but we got over ten thousand for the recount petition, and this is just as important as a recount petition. One reason is if you feel they listen to you about a recount, they'll really listen to you about Gonzales, and the election is behind us, but Gonzales is just heading our way. We need people to email the link, post the link, and get groups and organizations knowing about the link. This is a must do, we have to work together, we have to make this happen, some how and some why, so Please take the link and do some damage with it.
