Kerry's Ex-Girlfriend Writes Graphic Novel
Kerry's ex-girlfriend relives their affair in graphic novel
By Philip Sherwell in Washington
(Filed: 14/11/2004)

If John Kerry came across as stiff and awkward during his bid for the White House, then a very different picture of him is emerging - as a silver-tongued womaniser - in a book to go on sale this month.

Lee Roystone, a former girlfriend of Mr Kerry, has written a semi-autobiographical novel in which her fictional alter ego, Nikki Matthews, has an on-off affair with a dashing Massachusetts senator -a Democrat whom she says is modelled on Mr Kerry.

Nikki, a Harvard graduate, describes her politician lover as a "caveman" in the bedroom who would whisper sweet nothings to her in French - a language Mr Kerry speaks fluently. He also has a home on Beacon Hill, Boston, as does Mr Kerry.

In another part of Hedge Fund Mistress, Nikki tells a friend about a particularly wild encounter over dinner with her political paramour, Sen Jim Hoyt. "We were sitting at one end of the long dining room table and suddenly we were feeding each other and kissing, and all over each other, and undressing each other and plates were falling on the floor, food was everywhere, you know, our usual combustible frenzy, and then he carried me to the bedroom," she writes. Asked by her friend what happened next, Nikki says: "We made mad, passionate love and he immediately fell asleep." The unfortunate Nikki, however, almost dies as the senator lies snoring while she goes into anaphylactic shock from eating shellfish.

19. Poor, silly thing!
The caption she wrote and placed under that photo is:
John and I. I can't remember where we were
when this picture was taken. We were
caught unaware. He was mid-sentence and
I have that "quick - throw-on a smile" look.

I can't find the photo I really need to approximate that wonderful smile, but here are a few attempts:

What a treasure! I'll bet she attached herself to his leg and wouldn't let go! Want to bet she stalks him?

15. New Book
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 01:46 AM by bumblebee1
Benito, you crack me up. LOL LOL;-) I love that title, even if it doesn't end up being the actual title. Oh, great, something else for John O'Neill to obsess about. I can just hear the whining from Mr. O'Neill now: "Why is John Kerry a better lover than meeeee?"

John Kerry- a silver tongued womanizer? Who'd of thought? You can never tell about some people.

Caveman who speaks French fluently? This I want to see.

3. Yeah, whatever happened to the
true story of "The Family" or whatever that Kitty Kelley book was about the bush crime family?

Kitty's going to have to do a sequel with all the juicy crap that will spewing out of D.C. the next few years.

16. The Family
The book is out there. I finished reading it a few weeks ago. The book is a little on the gossipy side. Some of the information on the Bush family is new and some is common knowledge. One of my co-workers saw me carrying the book into work and asked about it. She then asked me if I think Kitty Kelley would write a book about Johm Kerry. I replied, "If there's enough info out there, she just might."

12. I hope, for John Kerry's sake, she knew more about lovin' than writin'
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 12:22 AM by Straight Shooter
You're right. Her writing kind of, well, to put it kindly, stinks.

edit: I'm having a difficult time imagining a "caveman" who whispers "sweet nothings in French."

Lee Roystone

I know that none of the American heavyweights ever came from there, but this is getting ridiculous

26. Hah.
T.S. Eliot. John Updike. Norman Mailer (Well, most people think he's good). John Dos Passos. William Gaddis. Robert Frost. Robert Lowell. Wallace Stevens. e.e. cummings. Adrienne Rich.

That's off the top of my head.

14. I love a good graphic novel.
After all, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was much better in comic book form than as a movie.

17. Who Will Play Kerry in the Made-for-TV Mini-Series?
Possibly Hugh Grant? I always thought Kerry looked like a dead ringer for Hugh Grant in the Kerry/Lennon photo.

looks like she mis-timed this 'sink like a stone' fiction. She should have put it out before the election but I guess she thought we would have President Kerry after Nov. 2 than the timing would be perfect for her to make mucho bucks. x(

21. OMG-- she's self-publishing the book. It must be horrendous.
If no publisher wanted to touch this, it must be load of steaming crap. She must be a horrible writer if she has to self-publish this considering who she is.

Well, the good news is, no one will buy or read it and it won't be available in any real stores. :)

23. Damn, I always suspected he'd make a good lover
I wonder how Teresa feels about this. Hell, I wonder how he feels about this.

LOL - He ought to sue for royalties, like that episode of "Frasier" where Frasier finds out this new best-selling romance novel was based off of one of his youthful affairs and demands credit for being the inspiration.

25. LMAO that's kind of what I was thinking
She was a little... er... not "right" looking. Sounds like she's kinda stalkerish, too... that article said she was still "besotted" with him 14 years later. I mean, I can't blame her, exactly - he'd be one hell of a hard lover to forget... but it's over, hon, so you might as well move on. He ain't coming back. ('Specially not when you compare her with Teresa... er, no contest).
