Kerry was chillin on a beach and Shrub was on the phone with him all anxious about all the crap he has to deal with -- that he created. So he had some second thoughts and wanted to do a 'parent trap' type switch with Kerry or else 'find' him some votes in Ohio - 'trust me, I can do it, I know where to look.'

8. The sketch was a phone call between Kerry and Bush.

With a split screen showing Kerry in casual clothes sitting on a deck and bush in suit and tie sitting at his desk in the Oval Office.

Kerry is all laughing and relaxed, and bush looks increasingly unhappy as the conversation goes on. Bush finally says, "Switch with me!" (etc.)

There was alot more detail, of course, but that was the basic setup.

he didn't want another four years. So he was asking Kerry to switch with him.

The one who stole the election told Kerry in a hushed tone near the end of the phone call, "Switch with me."

Kerry: "Huh?"

Election Thief: "Switch with me."

Kerry: "Can't do that."

Election Thief: "I know where we could get some votes. Trust me, I know we could get some from Ohio." (or something to that effect)

That kinda blew me away.

It certainly appears as though the idea of election fraud is making it's way into the public consciousness. SNL is only going to joke about something that they're sure most people already know about.

And they certainly laughed at that particular bit. Whether that means they "got" the Ohio reference, I couldn't say.

In that skit, it looked like he got into a fight, or something, with his eyelid hanging over 80% of his eye?

My wife and I got a good laugh over that whole skit. The part about the previous administration leaving the place a mess. The part about Bush asking Kerry to switch places. The part about finding votes in Ohio.

At least the staff of SNL know what the hell's going on in this election, if the news lapdogs don't.

16. makeup problems?

I'm not sure how much in the way of prosthetics they use on him -- maybe there were some technical issues with that. I think they stick on fake eyebrows -- he looks different now than he did in earlier episodes -- so it could be problems with the adhesives or something.

But in this case, his squinting eye seemed fitting.

He's clearly trying -- for a long time they didn't have anyone to do the Bush impression, and several of them gave it a shot. I remember the earlier "Bush, Kerry, and the Clintons at Yale" 60s flashback skit, and Forte's improved a lot since then. His whining "hard work" catchphrase during the debate sketch was quite funny. I guess my only problem is that one could feel sorry for his current version of Bush, since he seems too forlorn and passive -- not nearly obnoxious enough.

I loved the comparison of his current cabinet with a frat house after all his friends have graduated and he's stuck on campus doing 2 semesters of remedial math!
