We Need Freethought/Rationalist Chick Tracts...remember those little comic
Remember Chick tracts? They were little comic books with an Evangelical Christian message.

Well, I think we need some secular Chick style tracts, with a Freethought/Rationalist/Secular message.

How about an adaptation of Thomas Paine's "THE AGE OF REASON"? That book was my first introduction to Freethought.

If anything is going to change, we need to recover the gains of the Enlightenment and the Age of Reason. How we have regressed 400 years is a mystery to me.

1. Errr...
The vast majority of fundies don't even take Chick tracts seriously.

I doubt even Fred Phelps thinks that the Earth is flat.

2. Dick Cheney still insists the earth is flat...
I think it was John Lennon, or maybe Jesus, but one of those guys who really knows about these things said so.

5. Chick is a nutjob, but the tract medium isn't a bad idea
Christian groups who aren't insane (the church I grew up in, Campus Crusade for Christ) have used it to their benefit. I'm no longer Christian, but I still admire the brevity and clarity of CCC's "Four Spiritual Laws" tract. More importantly, I still remember it despite only encountering it twice, both times about three years ago.

It would be worth considering adapting this method for our purposes.

3. Or something close...
First in the Series ...
'When faith blinds' The Trofin Lysenko story.

Second in the Series...
'The power of night' A tale told by a young Jewish girl of how Nazi nighttime bookburnings and rallies led to kristalnact.

See, we can use both commies *and* fascists to skewer the reductionist right.

4. Don't we already have this?
It's called Get Your War On.

The only difference is that the GYWO guy skewers that sense of pompous self-righteousness that exudes from Chick tracts. But the aethetic seems to be similar...
