Are You Like Me? Are You Praying for a Watergate-Style BushCo Meltdown? |
|
Cuz I don't see any other way for these thugs to be defeated. The only thing that keeps me sane is the hope that this administration goes down in a great ball of scandalous fire.
Where is the whistle-blower?
Come out, come out, wherever you are.

I think it all ends with prison sentences. They got too many investigations and reports put on hold so as not to influence the election. BTW, media whores, WITHHOLDING information is ALSO a way of influencing the election.

I wasn't around for Watergate, but from what I've read and heard about it, the * administration, IMHO, has employed tactics many, man times worse.
If only we still had something akin to investigative reporting in this country, there'd be no way in hell * would have been around for four more years.
This administration has hurt too many people, though. It only takes one person. After than, it wil be hard to stop the bleeding. Maybe then the majority of Americans will get the message.

usually this kind of thing (hypocritical hyper-concern for some unfortunate animal in the news) affects and excites a particularly dense part of the population, but in the case of 'cat killer' frist may they say 'let's roll!'

9. Where AREN'T the whistle blowers? |
|
OK, they're not around during this election, but they've been defecting and informing on this administration since day one practically.
Unfortunately, the media plays them down as disgruntled ex-employees--much as we are painted as conspiracy theorists. Oh, another scandal, more proof of fraud, more proof of incompetence? Pay no attention to the overall corruption behind the curtain. These are just glitches that happen in every government. :eyes:

You're talking to someone who lost a job due to whistleblowing. Having a conscience ain't cheap. But I knew what the consequences would be and still decided to do it--single parenthood and all. It wasn't easy but I could sleep at night.

19. The shock of November 3rd... |
|
for me, was mixed with an immediate anger and determination to push on for election reform and lobbying for impeachment.
However, the NEXT morning I woke up terrified (for the first time) about possible terrorism in the wake of Smirk's election. The message "we" had just sent to the rest of the world:
-Americans "re"-elected a man who will attack without proof or provocation, but would like you to give up your nukes.
-It's OK with us that Smirk shows complete disrespect for countries that disagree with us.
-We're not bothered by BushCo's incompetence, lying, cheating, or mismanagement of Iraq to the point of letting hundreds of pounds of explosives slip into the hands of people who will use them against our own troops.
-Americans don't find it disturbing that our pResident claims to get messages from God. (Isn't this called psychosis?) And this clown has his trigger finger on OUR nukes!
I feel a real sense of urgency to get this crazy person out of the White House!

Let's say today we find out that Bush authorized and approved the outing of Valeri Plame. I can't think of a single Republican in the House of Representatives who would be willing to step up and begin writing articles of impeachment.
And let's just say, miracle of miracles, we get articles of impeachment approved, and then the trial starts in the Senate. There won't be 2/3 of the Senators to vote for removal from office.
What we have now is unaccountability. There are no more checks and balances in this government.

22. BIG problem though... |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 05:48 PM by NurseLefty
... and a big difference between Watergate and now. Back then, the Dems had majorities in both the House and Senate, which meant they had control of committees such as the Judiciary. The result is that they had the numbers and power to draft a resolution of impeachment. Fast forward to now. Congress and its committees are controlled by the republicans. Essentially, a prayer is futile for any kind of impeachment of Shrub so long as the repubs control Congress. Sad, but true... :hurts:

I'm not expecting a meltdown. You want public opinion against the Bushista regime? Then take regular action: erite at least one LTTE to a carefully chosen paper, on a carefully chosen topic, every week for the next four years etc etc.

30. i'm afraid another country will have to step up and bring down |
|
this group of thugs.
overseas media may break a story u.s. courts can't ignore. a business contact overseas may start singing like a bird and reveal criminal activity. again, something so big and so heinous u.s. courts can't ignore it. or it may be something as simple as a bullet or a bomb from a foreign country.
i doubt that what takes down bush will come from within our borders. the media is fat and happy in the pockets of the bush bunch. members of congress are either in bed with or afraid of them. and the patriot act has such a tight noose around us that i could probably do time just for what i wrote in the previous paragraph.
though right now we've managed to become both the laughingstock and the bully of the world, a lot of people around the world still like us and our country. maybe for the times we chipped in to help other countries, people in other countries could help us.
