Bush trying to strip overtime pay |
|
Does anyone have a link with extensive info on what he's trying to do here? When I read this it pissed me off, but I don't know enough about his proposal to vigarously debate it with conservative friends. If someone could help me out it would be appreciated.

2. I believe it's a ploy to end OT for good for just about everyone |

If you read the language of the bill it changes the definition for someone who is not qualified to receive OT to someone who holds a "position of responsibility" which is essentially anyone with a job. Essentially if you have a "position of responsibility" your employer can say your not eligible for OT, if you make over a certain amount.
Although there are salary's that automatically qualify, look for those to gotten around at some point in the future.

4. From what I read from Palast, the law actually allows employers |
|
to lower someone's hourly salary to the point where the time-and-a-half added will equal their previous salary.
This is currently illegal, BTW.
