every machine has an IP address. True, most of us have dynamic IP addresses...but that wouldn't matter.
The usage logs would show (or could show) how many pages had been read, and how many unique IP addresses were involved. One might do this daily, then get a monthly average. It would provide some indication of unique individuals reading each day....
