Al Franken on MSNBC this morning, un-freakin-believable |
|
Anybody see Al Franken this moring on MSNBC with Chris Whats-Her-Face? Talk about a pathetic attempt at attack journalism. This little twirp was actually stupid enough to try and corner Franken by accusing him of lying about a part of his book wherein he wrote to 20 some odd people representing the Right and asked them to provide examples of sexual abstinance. She accused him of lying by misrepresenting himself as a member of an actual scientific survey. Franken looked stunned, then amused, and then he proceeded to explain to her, as one would explain to a retarded 3 year old, that it was a spoof, satire, a joke if you will. He then told her that what she was attempting to do was like accusing Candid Camera of dishonesty in one of it's comedic setups. What a complete and total fool this woman is. Anybody have a list of emails at MSNBC? I'd like to write this bimbo and tell her she should be flipping burgers.

2. It takes some skill to flip burgers |

Chris obviously has no skills. She sure does fit in well with the other republicans.

What a complete total bitch. She's right up there with Paula Zaun. I've never seen such mean spirited news anchors and pundits in all my life. Really puts you in a good mood to see and hear this tripe doesn't it? x(

4. He gets the same question every time |
|
Apparently, when you join the Right, you surrender your soul AND your sense of humor. This is the ONLY thing these folks can come up with to hammer him about. Either they don't get it (IT'S CALLED A JOKE, HA HA)or it's all they have. Can we apply the reasonableness test? Would a reasonable person believe a letter they received from Al Franken on Harvard stationery was legit? Let's see, a known humorist, irreverent...nope, nope, it's got to be for real. I'm going for "moral outrage" with a side of "disbelief."
Sheesh!
BTW, Franken's book absolutely rocks. Read it!

7. "This is the ONLY thing ... |

these folks can come up with to hammer him about." Exactly. Because he doesn't talk bullshit and spin like they do - they have to attack something that was done in jest. It's funny, really, if you think about it. The are, truly, a pathetic bunch who are watching their world fall apart before their very eyes.

5. The extent of MSNBC's journalism is to read Drudge |
|
MSNBC, especially after canning Donohue, has become more corporate than FOX. (Has anyone else noted that Microsoft -- besides underwriting the unreadably righty Slate -- has been advertising on FOX News and the Drudge Report.) Now it's GE, Microsoft, and Vivendi -- the newspeak network is almost complete.

You might poke around the www.msnbc.com website a while and see if you can find a more specific e-mail address than letters@msnbc.com. However, that's a start.
Good luck and let them hear from you!

11. His interview with Keith Olberman last night |
|
went pretty well. Keith even gave him one of those Faux News t-shirts. Why did MSNBC decide to turn around and let that moron interview him this morning?

12. Olberman has some sort of autonomy there |
|
I saw that one, and part of Zahn, who used the same approach as the MSNBC woman did. as has been said, that seems the ONLY factual dispute they can come up with at this point.
rest assured "they'll" be giving it the same fine-toothed comb treatment they gave THOTP, and Blinded by the Right. In neither case were they able to come up with anything to blunt the revelations of those books.
Olberman took too much time talking about the lawsuit and presenting him with the Tshirt, though. Franken got almost no time to get across any of the points of his book. disappointed in that

13. I thought Keith's interview was biased! |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-03-03 06:00 PM by Isome
That is biased in favor of Al. Keith was complimentary of the book, and took potshots at Fox News wherever he could within the interview. I was stunned!
Maybe it was set up to be that way: one easy interview to promote the book, and then a second critical interview with whatshername, that I've never heard of (or seen).
Oh', I forgot to add that I appreciated the way Keith took great pains to promote the t-shirt designed and sold by agitproperties (folks being sued by fox -- click on the name).

14. Has it ever occurred to these twits... |
|
...that if their objective is to get Al to see the error of his ways, they fail miserably? In fact, they are simply providing more evidence, convincing to Al and to anyone watching who has half a brain or more, that Al is absolutely right in his scathing criticism. Maybe he ought to borrow from his good buddy Bill O and ask "in the entire book (my whole career, etc.), that's the ONLY thing that you can find to question? that's the best you can do?"
