to sit on top of so much oil. That's my take on why this is happening.
Proove me wrong, please. I don't want to believe it.

2. because they're expendable to dubya and their lives don't factor
into the neocon two-dimensional foreign policy plan: there are two-types of people- americans and disposable lives.

11. never read him before, he boils things down to the essense...
"We have let our world be radically changed by a few evil, rich, white and soulless businessmen who control the information we receive and the appartus that governs us, and now we have let 200-plus years of relative freedom go down the drain simply because these men wanted to make even more money and sold us on a story that convinced us we were in danger from a foreign threat, just like they always do, just like they have always done."

8. reminds me of the famous ganster when asked why he robbed banks..
Edited on Mon Nov-15-04 07:33 PM by BREMPRO
he replied "because that's where the money is". Replace "oil" for "money" and you get the Bush administration...of course it's ultimately about money.. oh, and don't get in their way, or they'll shoot you. A "culture of life"... right. They are uncommon criminals operating under a cult of death.

5. Bush wants that oil sold. They have to have a real government to
be able to do the sale. They also need insurance companies to go in or no one will buy the oil wells. We are killing Iraqis for the same reason we killed Vietnamese (4 million of them) - get them out of the way.

6. I miss Florida Pat.... I think you are pretty near the mark with
what you are saying... imagine if Iraq came over here and privatized and sold out ALL OF OUR STATE OWNED businesses... and basically carved up what they wanted and sold it to the highest bidder as if none of us existed... I'll tell you what... them there hunting rifles wouldn't be trained on deer and elk for the next few years or so.... wasn't ladybird Johnson like one of the largest if not the largest shareholder in KBR... who did quite a bit of biz in Vietnam if memory serves.... funny how things never change.... eh?

9. Link a bit of hyperbole
nevertheless there are real solid reasons for this invasion of Iraq:

1. It was planned during the Reagan/Bush years by Cheney, Wolfowitz, Perle and Rumsfeld.

2. It is designed to control the last significantly untapped ocean of oil in the world.

3. It establishes an American military presence in a volatile area of the world.

4. Hussein was planning to trade oil in Euros instead of dollars, which had been the universal currency of oil. This would risk devaluation of the dollar to more realistic levels and this we simply couldn't tolerate.

5. This invasion has been the greatest thing to happen to Al Qaeda recruitment since the Israelis invented terrorism in the 50's.(OK so that is a small stretch...the inventing terrorism thingie not the recruitment thingie)Which is important because of:

6. Bush gets reelected because Americans always reelect a war time President. How the hell could they pass that up?

7. Bush gets to reward his buddies with billions in profits from this war, takes the heat off his abysmal domestic, environmental and education policies.

Like George said after 9/11 he hit the trifecta!

15. AND...

BushCo's buddies made money betting on the financial markets in the days before the 9/11 attack, that was good practice and set up for the second wave of profits in Iraq!

16. the real disturbing fact is..
that Bush & CO have NO INCENTIVE FOR PEACE... without perpetual war they can't make billions on weapons and oil, and they won't get elected to power because people will feel safe and vote for the democrats... war is a win/win for Bush.

why don't more people understand what's really going on here!!!
