Alberto Gonzales and Condi Rice----Write Your Senators
Everyone, I had an idea on how to oppose the nominations of Alberto Gonzales (for DOJ) and Condi Rice (for State). Unfortunately, I cannot do this, because I am a D.C. resident, and we don't have full representation in the U.S. Senate, so I have no Senators to write to.

Anyway, I want to encourage all of you to write your 2 Senators and ask them to oppose the nominations of Gonzalez and Rice. Ask them to either vote them down, or conduct a filibuster. And ask at least 10 of your friends to write to their Senators as well. And ask your friends to ask their friends.

Members of the U.S. Senate need to hear how their constituents feel about these nominations. And remind them that they have an OBLIGATION to conduct checks and balances on the executive branch. They must not be rubber stamps.

So in short, write your Senators, ask at least 10 friends to write their Senators, and ask your friends to ask their friends.

Maybe these nominees can be defeated.

1. don't forget Stephen Hadley, her deputy, who will take her job
as NSA. He's the flunky bungler who claims he forgot to tell her about objections to the uranium language in the state of the union.

4. Exactly right.
You know, I understand why these chicken hawks get along so well. It's because the other's misguided idealogy is simply a mirror of their own. It's disgusting.

2. I suppose it doesn't hurt to try.
Let them know we're paying attention. But my fear is that our Dem senators are a bunch of lame, pencil-necked wussies who will bend over for the Repubs. Again. And again. And again.

8. I'm not writing to anyone. If not them, then someone worse.
Face it, dems have no real power at this time.

The best you could hope for is someone with NO track record.

I strongly encourage dems in office to abstain on most items in the Bush agenda with the exception of judicial appointments.

9. Here's a petition to our Senators dealing with Gonzales
Please forward this to contacts far and wide...and as fast as possible! A true show of will by the people is needed.

Please help us petition the nomination of Alberto Gonzales for U.S. Attorney General.
He will most likely be confirmed, but let's give him a harder time than our "representatives" will!
If you thought Ashcroft was bad, fasten your seatbelts...

Just click, read, and sign!
