If you haven't already, please DU Sen. Norm Coleman's poll
at
http://coleman.senate.gov/

his site's wonderfully unbiased poll question is:

"Do you support extending the President’s tax relief, which has helped create almost 1.7 million new jobs this past year and has reduced the tax burden on nearly 1.9 million Minnesota taxpayers?"

Please! It's down to 56 percent 'no,' 43 percent 'yes!'
DU members on the day shift had it up to 82 percent 'no.'

OF course, his staff by now is probably fiddling with the numbers, and these polls are essentially useless puffery, but it's fun to jam his stupid poll down his GOP throat!

4. I have never seen
wording this obvious. I am sure Garrison Keillor was right about this oily piece of work.

5. I decided to write him instead
I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1985 with a minor in economics. So I am aware of the logical fallacies in your poll question: "Do you support extending the President’s tax relief, which has helped create almost 1.7 million new jobs this past year and has reduced the tax burden on nearly 1.9 million Minnesota taxpayers? "
As a US Senator you must be aware of the number of jobs created in the 1990s, for example:
1997 3.36 million
1998 3.00 million
1999 3.15 million
2000 1.94 million
Also you should be aware how skewed Bush's tax cuts are towards the wealthy. 1.9 million Minnesotans may have gotten "tax relief" but the majority of that relief is going to the richest 200,000. A tax cut does not have to work that way.
You represent a traditionally liberal state, and you may consider yourself a person of character. Show some of that character then and stop trying to spread Bush's misinformation. Do not treat your constitutents like idiots out walking around.
I am sending a copy of this letter to all my friends and relations in Minnesota.
