A call to action, DU we need your help. Someone help us!

I am once again calling for a massive march on the capitol. While this country is being dragged down the crapper, will we stand by and do nothing? Or, will we rise up from behind our computer screens and take our beliefs and anger into the streets and TAKE THIS COUNTRY BACK?

I hope that DU or some other organization will SOON call for this and support it. I just got my letter from Kerry today thanking me for all my hard work, asking me to keep working for the ideals of the campaign. Yes sir Mr. Kerry, while you arrive each day in a limo to your high paying job with all of it's wonderful benefits, those of us who worked our asses off for you will be left out here to suffer in the darkness under the regime of Bush. I'm sorry but the letter gave me NO comfort at all. It pissed me off!
We have been duped, bamboozled, and lied to long enough. We MUST take this to the streets and protest in non violent ways in numbers that can not be ignored. Please join with me in asking the DU or Move On or some organization to get behind this idea. There are 53 million of us and we should become one and make them listen. This country sinks slowly into an abyss that is so dark, we can't even imagine what is in store. For those of us with vivid imaginations we fear to imagine. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE , let's all stand together and MARCH on Washington. Maybe Senator Kerry would come out of his office to wave at us. I don't care anymore about the election, as Kerry wrote in his letter . "It is over". We must move on but in a way that MAKES the current administration sit up and notice. I beg you all to help in this cause by writing the good folks at DU, Move On and any other progressive liberal organizations to help us put this thing together. This MUST be done people. This is not a matter of talking about it anymore. We MUST show our contempt for what has happened to our country, our Constitution, and our way of life. Write some letters, e-mails, what ever you think is most effective. I like the DU as a sponsor because we are a resistance movement, much like the French Underground.
Again, I hope and want this to be very peaceful. If we could get a few million folks together in one place I think Bush's smirk would disappear and a genuine revolution would begin to take shape. Let the War Cry and the beat of the drum go forth to all concerned people of this country. We need physical action and we need it soon! From town to town across this land let the steady beat of the drum bring us from our homes and into the streets to stand, march, and cry out for our beloved nation. For if we remain content to sit behind our monitors and carp, and type, nothing will change, nothing will happen. We must rise up!

Thanks for reading my continued pleas for this. I hope someone with the organizational skills and the necessary tools will soon step forward and organize us. I'll be the first in line at that time with my checkbook open and my feet ready to move!

6. All I can do is beg daily. maybe people will help

just to shut me up so they can post the conspiracy theories, celebrity campaign teams, favorite movies, or other stuff that will change nothing. You have the right to post what ever you want but I think we really need action, not words! Maybe I'll get up to a few hundred posts under my belt doing this, and people who won't read anyone's posts unless they have hundreds of posts under their belts will read the idea and respond.

9. I read of fear

among the people here. Fear of what has happened, fear of what will happen. I wonder how many really do believe in their hearts that we are truly in peril.

I wonder how many Americans really understand what a government can do to a populace who does not agree with their policies.

We are midde-age and remember when people did rise up and demand change. Government has rarely affected change for the good of the people.
Historically, "We the People", have demanded change.

I don't have the answers either. I do know "UNITY" must come first.
We must come together with a Common Goal and Solidarity.
We must quit fighting among ourselves and realize our strength (in numbers), regardless of the region we are from.

I have few posts and live in Alabama. This appears to make my voice small. I will never move. I live where my Irish ancestor settled with his Cherokee wife and family when they were forcibly removed by the government from the "Great Cherokee Nation of Georgia".

My husband ancestors were German Jews. Only a few escaped Germany in the 40's, settled here, Americanized their name and hid their religious beliefs to survive. It was so well hidden and forgotten that he didn't know his heritage until recently when I traced his Ancestry.

This brief history lesson is not to whine or seek pity.
It is to remind.

Thank you, I posted this to ask people who may have more organizational skills than myself to help out, so far no one has done so. I need this forum's help to unite the people here in this cause. PLEASE PLEASE help me find an organization to put his thing together. Where are all the people who CARE so much about this country? Are you content to sit behind your computers and whine and moan;or are you willing to take action. Talk to people who have participated in protests and marches in the past. They DO create change. I am really surprised at the lack of response.once again. As promised I will post this daily until you get sick of it or you join in the hunt for someone to fund and organize this.

Unity, as you say, is the key. On another thread someone asked "do you think weed will be legalized?" and I was reminded once again how poorly people are perceiving the true nature of the threat. Weed being legal? I am worried about walking around still being legal.

Our safety and survival is in numbers and in solidarity, and that means finding a simple and powerful bond - not the usual liberal grab bag of ideas and positions to be endlessly haggled over. It also means alliances with those with whom we disagree politically.

The country is at risk, and I am alarmed at how few people are outting that at the top of their priority list. I don't think they have thought through what the collapse of the country would mean. We can never fix it if it doesn't exist anymore, and this adminstration is hell-bent on dismantling it.

I post quotes from the founding fathers often at the bottom of my messages, and it always saddens me to see how little attention they get or response. I am old enough to remember when the words of Jefferson, Paine, and Sam Adams were enough to get people to set aside their diferences and pull together around the ideals that the country was founded upon. Today, they are mere talking points in a sea of garbled chatter and endless verbal jousting. People are as likely to start criticizing the Constitution as they are to see it as a shared legacy worth fighting for, and worth putting aside our differences for.

16. What you need is a list, a place, and a time.

Howdy RedTail Wolf! This is quit a bit of work you're taking upon yourself, here. I would suggest that, first, you get people from each state to gather together in one place for an initial meeting. Afterwards, each state can then have meetings towards the united goal of marching on Washington at a later date. It can be done....The Gay, Lesbian, Bi, and Transgender communities have done this a few times....but man, It's a lot of work!

Why not contacting the same org. who organized the peace demonstration prior to the war?

Here, millions across the country took the streets and our government decided to stay away from it. It did have an impact.

If you guys pull it off tell us the date. I could contact our orgs. to organize a peace march the same day.

We may not have influence to impeach Bush but we can let him know that we are against his imperial cruisade and that we want him to back off.

I'm going to be there to MOSH. I figure the best time to be had is with Al Sharpton. He'll be there. Michael Moore will probably be there and be fun.
