It's Raining Men!
It's Raining Men! (And Women...and Anyone With the Word Secretary Attached to Them or Hard Liners: American Style or Bush Admin. ver. 2.0-No Filter)
www.otterblog.com

Residents of our nation's capitol are advised to watch for a flash flood of resignations to continue around the White House. Next in line: Tom Ridge, Department of Homeland Security.

Some people believe that reshuffling of the cabinet is due to Bush's desire to remove contrversial subjects from the administration. Though Ann Veneman has been the most controversial leader of the Department of Agriculture since...the last Secretary of Agriculture the march to moderation argument doesn't seem to hold up. In fact, it would appear to us that the opposite is closer to the truth.

Colon Powell has long been seen as the primary voice of reason in this administration (maybe voice is too strong of a word...perhaps the muffled whisper of something close to reason) and with his resignation and Condi Rice's coronation moderation doesn't seem the likely course of action. Axing John "The Constitution Makes a Great Door Mat" Ashcroft sounded good, but replacing him with Alberto "Isn't the Geneva Convention Cute" Gonzales seems to be a wash. Really, the most controversial members of the administration (save for Bush...hmmm maybe he could get confused and sign his own resignation) are two figures that don't seem to be going anywhere, Rumsfeld and Cheney...

1. more like rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic
at least, one can hope that this administration shares that fate.

the point is, the shuffle lets them pretend to be moderate when in fact it's nothing of the sort.

3. The only thing in moderations is the amount of Jack Daniels in use
since the victory party is over.

4. I honestly do not know why Powell is or was considered a voice of
reason. He knows how to talk the talk and appear like a voice of reason, seldom displaying any sign of emotion, always appearing in the background behind Bush with a very very serious look on his face, but he never was a voice of reason. That is a myth and one upon which he will capitalize now that he is gone.
