We ain't the good guys anymore.
Edited on Tue Nov-16-04 12:48 PM by Cyrano
Remember when America was a beacon of freedom to the world? Well, those days are gone and who knows if they'll ever return? We are hated by everyone, everywhere, (not an easy feat to achieve).

Right now, the greatest threat to life on this planet is the United States of America. I never thought that I would ever utter a statement like that, but unfortunately, I believe it to be an absolute truth.

Today we are committing mass murder in Iraq. Tomorrow, who knows? Iran? Syria? Argentina? Take your pick. We still have the largest nuclear arsenal in the world and anyone who doubts that the fascists running this country wouldn't use it, is deluding him/herself.

Six days from today, Nov 22, will be the 41st anniversary of Jack Kennedy's assassination. Future historians (assuming there's any future) will mark that date as the beginning of the end of democracy. We've been going downhill for four decades now and I think we hit rock bottom with this election just past.

2. We've never been the good guys
Hate to break it to you but the history of U.S. foreign policy goes all the way back to the founding of this country via genocide and slavery.

10. Damn you 'Blame America First' liberal commie homos!
I'm sure the darkies are happy we kidnapped their ancestors and brought them here to learn the value of a hard day's work without pay!

And where would the NBA be today if we hadn't done that? Hmmm?

And don't forget if we hadn't bombed the bejeezus out of Japan, they wouldn't have started being nice to us and making high quality automobiles.

And so what about the Middle East? They all declared war on us on 9/11. They were all dancing in the streets. We should kidnap them, too, and teach them how to use deodorant.

:hurts:

You know, it is kind of fun pretending to be a Bush supporter.

3. I doubt it's any consolation, but we weren't the good guys for very long.
Maybe 40 or 50 years or so in the 20th century.

We weren't the good guys when we murdered all the Indians an overran this country.

We weren't the good guys when we invaded Cuba or the Phillippines.

Or when we illegally annexed Hawaii and refused to reinstate its sovereign government.

We certainly weren't the god guys in Vietnam.

Was it the good guys who assassinated Lumuba and Allende?

Old habits die hard. Bush is just a very blatant and clumsy manifestation of those habits.
