Margaret Hassan's death is highly suspicous
al-Zarqawi didn’t do this one, he issued a statement calling for her release, as did many other terrorist groups. The Iraqi resistance almost never participates in abduction and murder situations. The group holding her was very mysterious and didn’t follow any of the usual patterns, they didn’t really publicize it either which is very unusual.

I'm highly suspicious that this killing was done by an outside group seeking to destroy foreign and internal support for the Iraqi resistance. Israel, Kurds, or the biggest killer, the U.S., just a suggestion for a very unusual case.

1. Or perhaps it was done to distract people from that little marine incident
...where they shot the wounded man?

9. Well, that shoots a hole in my theory...no pun intended.
I just don't have a head for keeping up with all the atrocities and counter-atrocities going on anymore.

20. Was she?
It's hard to keep these timelines straight, what with the stories being released for maximum impact. After all, the marine/insurgent incident occurred late last week or over the weekend.

2. actually I think it was a group who hoped to profit financially
from her kidnapping while disguising it as an insurgency action. When they couldn't "sell" her to the real Iraqi resistance, they may have decided to "get back" at al-Zarqawi by executing her anyway and trying to pin the blame on the insurgency.

8. Yeah, you might be right, but who would fuck with al-Zarqawi?
Edited on Tue Nov-16-04 01:21 PM by KingChicken
If it was a group looking for quick cash then they screwed up, al-Zarqawi is the all seeing eye in the Iraqi underground. Unless the U.S. created al-Zarqawi out of nothing, mabey his top dog status is an illusion...

18. I strongly agree
Bushthink requires a bad guy, and al-Z fits the bill.

Typically facile, childish, retarded, deluded and most of all DISHONEST work by The Administration.

Sickening.

BTW: The BBC's recent "Power of Nightmares" series is a must-see for anyone interested in the whole area of dreaming-up bogey men.

By the way, al-Zaqawi is more CIA created myth than man.

How US fuelled myth of Zarqawi the mastermind
By Adrian Blomfield outside Fallujah
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/10/04/wirq04.xml

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the terrorist leader believed to be responsible for the abduction of Kenneth Bigley, is 'more myth than man', according to American military intelligence agents in Iraq.

Several sources said the importance of Zarqawi, blamed for many of the most spectacular acts of violence in Iraq, has been exaggerated by flawed intelligence and the Bush administration's desire to find "a villain" for the post-invasion mayhem.

17. Nick Berg = No Blood
Check out the video if you can stand to watch. Usally when people have their head cut off there is much more blood. The lack of blood suggests that he was dead when they did it, but he was being restrained on floor, their editing was very good.

5. Now that we know that there are PMF's with 15,000 highly paid...
...mercenaries who are not accountable to anyone but the corporations who hire them, can we really be expected to believe anything that the administration or the U.S. military tells the American people as to what is actually happening, by whom and for what purpose?

(Note: PMF's are Private Military Firms and they represent 10% of the lethal forces operating in Iraq taking orders from their clients and running renegade terrorizing the Iraqis at will. They represent total anarchy)
