I found this story heartening.
NPR's Karen Grigsby Bates examines Muhammad: The Last Prophet, a new animated film depicting the life of the prophet Muhammad. She speaks with Mark Pinsky, who writes about religion in popular culture, about how the film's vision of Islam could affect Muslim and non-Muslim audiences.

IMHO this is the kind of thing our country needs to be doing in order to bring more understanding of Islam.

I caught it on NPR today and thought-

Wow, wouldn't it be great if this movie played all over the US and parent's actually took their children to see it? Maybe the next generation will not think of all Muslims as terra ists. Maybe the next generation will come to understand the differences in our cultures and beliefs and will know that it makes more sense to try to communicate instead of destroy. Maybe the next generation will know that bringing democracy at the end of a gun actually does more harm.

Am I just a dreamer? Sigh, I hope it is not too late.

1. Pretty Neat
As I was reading your post I instantly became worried about how they were going to do this because I grew up Muslim and I know that in Islam, someone actually portraying the Profit is considered "blasphemy" and the Hadith (which is basically a compliment to the Quran -- books on how to live in the Prophet's Image) prohibits images of human beings (except on fabrics, and faceless if I remember correctly). They're trying to listen. I felt better after reading the article. I think it's a sign of hope too.
