Holy smokes! "Anonymous" author of "Imperial Hubris" on Hardball NOW

7:36 p.m. EST. He just quit his job on Friday -- was Chief of CIA's Bin Laden Unit. Name is Michael Scheuer, and I'm reading his book now! WOW!

11. Well, damn, I missed that! I hadn't even heard that he quit the CIA.

Too much time in the new forums, I guess.

3. I'm impressed
that the CIA even let him publish the book, but not surprised that they wanted him to to shut the hell up about it.

6. Yes
After he had published the book and was starting to talk about it.

They told him to not talk about it because it was election time. He deiced it was more important to talk about the info he had so he quit.

7. he voted for Bush this year
If I understand correctly his comments on Morning Sedition today, he said he has always voted Republican & was concerned about who would nominate a replacement for Renquist on the USSC.

8. That is what he said this AM
Yet another person who criticizes Bush's handling of the Bin Laden situation, but will vote for him anyway.

12. Are you referring to Michael Scheuer or

to me?

If the former, I disagree. I think he makes important points in his book.

If the latter, well, screw you!

10. I wish Chris Matthews didn't make me ill.
Too bad that Chris Matthews makes me want to gouge my eyes and ears out, otherwise, I might have caught this interview.

15. I'm becoming very suspicious of this whole thing
Maybe I ought to see a psychiatrist to rule out a paranoid personality disorder, but I find myself looking for motives behind everything.

First, did he really vote for Bush? I don't trust most of these people farther than I can see 'em. Maybe I just can't accept it, because I saw him both Sunday and on Hardball and he inasmuch admitted that most everyone in the CIA didn't draw the connection between OSL and Iraq and he sort of goofed up by saying they had told *, but then backpeddled or said he didn't know. How could someone so informed, against Iraq, vote for *? I don't get it.

Anyway, it airs here twice nightly and I found it more interesting than the 60 minutes segment, as Mattews just fired off questions really fast which didn't give Schueur as much time to think of answers. I would recommend it, if you can catch it later tonight.

13. that was amazing
If only Tweety would shut the hell up and let the guest finish thoughts, he would make some real news on his show. Every time a guest is about to spill something, Tweety interrupts with another question that furthers HIS OWN THOUGHTS.

Shut up! Just shut up!

Can't wait for a transcript for this, and see whether other news outlets follow up.

17. repeat at 4 EST
1 PST

I'll be watching it again.

The last segment is also interesting, where Tweety and his wife try to divine the future of news with bloggers as the first line of reporting news, MSM reporters surfing the bloggers, turning over to fact checkers, yada. A whole new food chain of reporting. Their inbred bias is amusing.
