Well folks, if all of us know people who crossed over to vote against what clearly is the madness of king george revisited then how did we loose this election?

I think that our country is under some kind of mass hypnosis at the hands of something that is clearly evil. The sheeple sleep like an infinite darkness hangs over their souls, It's like a deep fog that only allows them to see through a very narrow tunnel into reality.

They only seemed to be concerned when they see something going on that challenges their tiny belief system.

They get irate if you burn a flag, but not a village.

They will take their wallets out and write checks to challenge a woman's right to choose but they turn deaf ears on stories about the deformed babies born from effects of our using depleted uranium in ammunition.

They will whip their congregations into a voting frenzy if someone dares to challenge the sanctity of marriage, but ignore the moral crisis of a nation of peoples dehumanized and labeled as terrorists when they dare to fight to defend their own families and homes.

After all why should they care about what should happen in another country. They are in their comfort zones, If they don't like the news they have entertainment channels like the Fox News Channel.

But here at DU, we are wide awake, we have our own version of shock and awe, but it is driven by the sickness of seeing what the rest of our countrymen seem to be able to ignore.

Our shock and awe comes from seeing basic human rights stripped away across the globe in the name of the war on global terrorism.

It comes from watching our own constitutional rights being trampled by legislation like the Patriot act.

We sit in awe as the media takes their stories almost word for word from press releases of the corporations and government agencies that hand feed them.

The real problem with our media is that they fear that if they don't keep certain information OFF THE RECORD, then they will loose the tiny bit of access they still have left. That could lead to them having to resort to actual acts of journalism...
