It's Worse Than You Think
IT’S WORSE THAN YOU THINK
RB Ham (rbham.com)

The election debacle is now over. Despite the massive evidence of voter fraud by Republican controlled auditless voting machines (www.blackboxvoting.org), George W Bush was handed victory by fellow Skull and Boneser John Kerry before any of the facts could sink in to the voting public. Indeed Kerry pre-empted any controversy with his concession. I guess he had to allow it to be stolen because his attempts at losing the election legitimately came up short. His cock-eyed “kinda” for and “kinda” against the Iraq War was bad enough, but when he allowed himself to be photo-opped wind surfing and, inexplicably, goose hunting, I knew he was trying to throw it.

My worst fears, however, were fully realized with the premature concession. Only he, as the Democratic candidate, could have led the fight to have this fraudulent election fully investigated. Poor Keith Olbermann (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240/) over at MSNBC is the only major media figure to be pursuing this with any vigor at all. I fear for his safety…unless, of course, he’s the “selected” reporter to pre-emptively leak the story so that Karl Rove can direct his PR machine to do damage control and counter with disinformation and obfuscation.

But, as always in these interesting times, it’s worse than you think.

There is a reason for the deliberate leak on 60 minutes where the former "anonymous" CIA "whistleblower" warns that Osama bin Laden, the Bush-Cheney Administration’s favorite bogey man, has received religious approval for a nuclear attack on America. Quite simply, it sets the groundwork of plausibility for the next terrorist attack.
I'm guessing about January 11th, before the inauguration. Bush-Cheney need an excuse to re-institute the draft (especially seeing as how a war with Iran is being pushed openly by the PNAC brain trust) and they soon will need to crack down HARD on civil liberties and free speech. More and more people are starting to find out about the anomalies of 9-11 and the fact that the irregularities during the 2004 "election" are more than just highly suspicious. If a recount is demanded in Ohio, that could mean they would be even more desperate to distract the American people from the truth.

Plus the Iraq War, even with a tamed media, can't possibly be portrayed as anything but a disaster. Again, without a major distraction and an excuse to “rally” around a War President the cost of this war, both in dollars and lives, will become too much for the public to stomach.

Another ominous development is new CIA director Porter Goss leading an all out effort to "reform" the CIA so they can "purge" the organization of any management types with minds of their own.

CIA plans to purge its agency (http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/ny-uscia1114,0,707331.story)

This is the clearest signal that the CIA’s direction will be headed by those who are completely in lock step with the Pentagon’s foreign and domestic Black Ops program. They are determined to rid the Agency of any embarrassing whistleblowers or those who would leak embarrassing information. Like the Nazi party under Hitler, “disloyalty” will not be tolerated.

Next, the fact that a whole whack of troops have come back to the US from foreign bases seems timed so these troops will be on hand in case of civil disturbance, unrest or protests after the next staged attack. Note the following story:

Fort Bragg Troops Train For Homeland Security Mission --
November 11, 2004
http://www.wral.com/news/3911970/detail.html

This week, Fort Bragg soldiers ran a rare training exercise in New York. The group of soldiers flew to New York to train for a fictional scenario in which terrorists plan to strike the West Point Military Academy, the place where future Army leaders train...

Most units around the country are scheduling more domestic "training ops" like this one. The soldiers at Fort Bragg have done three.
So, as you can see, it seems like the plan has been initiated. The pieces will soon be in place. The final raw grab for complete power and the installation of a de facto Dictatorship may only be weeks or months away.

Besides, the old color-coded “terror alert” system is openly mocked and the well timed “security alerts” they have been issuing have the tinge of the “boy who cried wolf” to them. They need something to restore their credibility.

Now would be a good time for a true American patriot in the mold of Smedley Butler to finally stand up and say, “Enough!”

The fate of America may depend upon just such a man.

1. We need to keep one thing in mind, always:
Edited on Wed Nov-17-04 12:29 AM by Mike Niendorff
Without us, the system comes to a grinding halt.

As the wobblies used to say : "The only thing necessary for the working class to triumph is for them to simply fold their hands."

Where would they be without our labor?
Where would they be without our taxes?
Where would they be without our bodies?

Nowhere, that's where. The irony is that this prison is built, staffed and maintained by US. We are constantly reminded of our dependency on this system. Rarely are we reminded of its dependency on us.

I really think we need to go beyond "parties" and "offices" and "campaign strategy" and all the rest. That system is blatantly and irrepairably corrupted, at least for the near term. We need to consider other avenues for change. And (to get back to my point) this requires us to consider our relation to this ugly power structure that is taking root around us -- as well as its relation to us. Who depends on whom? What are the specific means by which this is achieved? How can we move within that structure to best effect change and weaken the RW's advance? These are questions that progressives need to consider deeply in preparation for the coming years.

8. But that would be hard
And I might have to give up my toys.

The wonder of America is not just the acquiescence of the people in their own imprisonment. It's the velvety nature of the prison. This country has been so wealthy that the oligarchs could afford to make working people more comfortable than their counterparts and still get filthy rich.

I've never brought up the topic of major economic action without hearing a chorus of "but the economy would tank, people would lose their jobs, I need my toys, and it would be haaard."

Well. The economy's tanking, people are losing their jobs, toys are getting too spendy, and it's hard and getting harder. So why not take the initiative, instead of just letting it all slip away.

That quote from Joe Ettor is one of my all-time favorites. Another great wonder of America is that the ruling class has done such a good job of convincing the underclass that it's a lie.

Is it possible to rouse the sleeping giant before it's too late?

That's some intriguing stuff there. And when I say "intriguing," I mean shit-your-pants-scary.

Ignorance just may be bliss after all.

4. Sorry, no Smedley Butler, but lots of ass-kissing Powells.
I'm afraid RB is right on the money with this!

5. You're right.
Of course you're right. Cheney has been threatening this for months. The 60 Minutes CIA guy talked it up, after he was done dissing Clinton. They already let all those dirty bomb materials go missing in Tuwaitha.

I hear 4000 troops are scheduled to secure the Inauguration.

6. You have sort of confirmed what I have been thinking.
We are going to have to sit back and watch history unfold before us. Unless we can get them to admit voter fraud, THEY WON'T GO. Maybe retreat may be the best strategy right now. Although I am dumbified by Kerry/Edwards response, it could be that this is what they are doing. I wish they would clue the rest of us in or maybe I hope too much.
