LSM's husband has come up with a new acronym for the draft..
so that the Administration won't have to call it the draft (just trying to be helpful).

Forced
Utilization of
Civilian
Kinfolk

I'll let you guys put together the acronym. So if they draft you, you have been *'d!

What do you guys think?

1. I hope you know...
...that your acronym spells out a bad word. Most of the children who would be subject to draft are not allowed by their parents to use such language.

2. It does?
Oh, my goodness, you're right (just kidding). I was just yoking all along.

But, you're right, we wouldn't want those 18, 19, 20-year-olds using such language right before they get sent to Iraq.

3. um
i am going on the assumption that you're kidding, but if not, i must laugh long and hard, because as a 19 year-old, i assure you that such language is rather common among the youngfolk

4. clever...but there will be no draft.
They are going to hold some bullshit elections in January and almost immediately begin to withdraw. They will claim total victory and success because the elections were held, and that is good enough for their base.

This Fallujah action is a last-minute Hail Mary pass. Of course, it's not going to work, and within weeks of turning the city back over to the Iraqis, it will once again need to be reconquered. Vietnam anyone?

Even the White House knows this thing is unwinnable. This time next year there will be virtually no troops in Iraq, and the country will be in utter chaos and ruin.

As predicted by virtually every pre-invasion antiwar protester, this will have been a total waste of life, time, and money.

I do reserve the right to amend this prediction if there is another major attack on US soil in the next 6 months.

6. You really think they would do that?
We would be in a totally bent over backasswards position. The debt is enormous and if the UN has to come in and clean up Iraq for us, you can almost guarantee that we'll see Iraqi oil pegged to the Euro. And then Iranian. And then Venezuelan...

Plus, it's totally un-PNAC to just abandon a burgeoning patch of democracy in the middle east... :eyes:

Seriously though. They want this, bad.

9. the PNAC theory is long dead. It's all about saving face now.
I believe the only way to actually fulfill the PNAC vision is to put at least 3 - 5 times the amount of personnel in Iraq. The only way to accomplish that is with a draft.

Bush is not going to do that. He's just not. It would destroy the pukes for generations to initiate a draft for what the majority of Americans already see as a bullshit war. PNAC is dead. (How much do we here from chief-architects Wolfowitz or Perle nowadays?)

But President Crotch would never pull out without somehow saving face, and that is precisely what the January elections serve as. You can bet your last dollar those elections are going to take place, because that is the benchmark of success that Crotch has been telling us for over 6 months now. It is irrelevant to the people who worship him whether this is in the best interest of Iraq...it is only relevant that they can claim some kind of moral victory out of this...no matter how skewed.

After the election the country will continue to spiral downward. The election will simply not create a legitimate government. The Bush supporters will easily be able to rationalize this failure as Iraqis simply not being able to handle the 'democracy' we gave them, so fuck 'em.

Again, what a waste of life, time, money, and reputation...a reputation that our previous generations busted their asses off to give us. It's just a pitiful shame, and it's retarded.

7. If there is a draft
It will be called something other than draft.
Bush will keep his promise of no "draft" -- but only by not calling it the "draft."
We were trying to figure out what the new name for it would be:

Put America Forward

The Support our Troops Initiative
...

Come up with more suggestions.
