Karl Rove Exposed
Guess who the genius was who exposed Joseph Wilson's wife for being a covert CIA agent? Why, none other than our Nazi friend, Karl Rove. Yes, it seems that the dirty, and yes, Nazi (his grandfather helped build the Nazi concentration camps), bastard is in some hot water due to a little bit of evidence the State Dept has regarding the source of the "leak". Now all that stands in the prosecution (because it is indeed illegal to reveal covert intelligence officers) is Colin Powell. But, according to the article linked below, it seems that if prosecuting Rove is successful, it might turn out that Bush could be prosecuted too...but only if Rove tells them he was told to do it.

4. Al Martin Raw is a suspect source
In fact, it is so bad that I generally dismiss anything cited on Almartinraw.com.

5. Al Martin
Al Martin is not a reliable source of information. He's either a disinformation operative or just a "conspiracy nut" for real. A lot of his stuff sounds close to the mark, but it is usually overblown by a mile.

7. Buy Al Martin's Book
It's the ONLY place you can find the claims he makes, so it MUST be true...

8. I don't trust al martin
but several days ago, a DUer posted that they had seen Joe Wilson speak in person, and Joe had said that it was Rove who outed his wife a CIA agent.

9. Wilson definitely said it

You can see the event for yourself on the internet (don't have the link off-hand, but it was during a forum by Rep. Jay Inslee).

The thing about this Al Martin article is that he uses words that give little wiggle-room:

"When Ambassador Wilson was asked how he knew it was Rove, he had documents in his possession...."

"Wilson has announced that he will have his private attorneys petition the Department of Justice...."

"The investigation held thus far by the State Department’s Internal Security (ISD) has stated..."

It would seem hard for someone to over-state the following sentences, unless he's basically a pathological liar, which for all I know he could be.

One thing is certain, there is a lot of substance to this story, notwithstanding any potential embellishments by Al Martin.

11. I was at that forum
It was a Thursday, not Friday, as Martin states- a little thing, but sheesh!

Wilson said nothing about having his private atts petition anything or any documents, so if Martin doesn't have another source besides that Inslee forum, this is bunk.

There was a spiny jab thrown dirctly at Rove which can be contrued to mean that Wilson believes Rove was Novak's source, but this writer MUST have other information. Hard to tell from the way it's written.

12. The Wilson story is HUGE, but I don't find Al Martin credible
Here is link to video of Wilson's comments (FF to about 80% of the video), which I transcribed as follows:

http://www.house.gov/inslee/meetings.htm

Q - Hello, Mr. Wilson, assuming what Robert Novak said about your wife was true and the seriousness of that, can we expect the FBI to give a complete, unhindered investigation into that, and find out wherever it leads to?

W - I’m not sure I know how to answer that, because we’re talking hypotheticals. The way the process works is, if this were to have been true, the CIA will do an internal investigation and determine whether or not in their judgment a law has been broken. They then refer it to the Justice Department, who takes another look at it, and then it’s referred to the FBI for further investigation.

Now, despite the fact that John Ashcroft is in charge of the Justice Department, this violation, if it is in fact a violation, is one that is a violation of a professional, and the investigation and the looking into this will be done essentially by professionals.

Now there is a lot of interest in Congress. Henry Waxman has been keenly interested in this and offered all sorts of support. Chuck Schumer, Mr. Gun Control, came out and made a statement to the effect that, if true, this is like putting a gun to the head of an agent. John Dean, of all people, just wrote the other day that the President should have extended Secret Service protection to me and my family as a consequence of this. He didn’t, by the way, I must say. Although I will tell you, I think that they’re scared to death that I might stub my toe.

But I have confidence that at the professional level that whatever they think is doable will be done. My own sense is that, and I’ve told the FBI this, that should they decide to undertake an investigation that I want to talk with them to see how I can best support the investigation, not do anything to impede it. And I think I do have a vote in this, since Congress has basically said we will do anything we can to support you. And the question is whether or not having Chuck Schumer and Hillary and others go forward and talk about this openly, Dick Durbin, impedes or helps the investigation down the road.

But we’ll see. I mean I don’t think we’re going to let this drop. At the end of the day it’s of keen interest to me to see whether or not we can get Karl Rove frog-marched out of the White House in handcuffs. And trust me, when I use that name, I measure my words.

15. This is huge, and it will send KKKarl to prison.
The flaky embellishments are irrelevant. The case is solid, and its been perking for a while. Getting to be time for a little steam to hiss out, smell that crispy repug ass. The security aspects are bubble-wrap around this gem; but Congress is back, vacations are ending. MmmmmHmmm.

Better be looking for that popcorn.

13. Well, don't know about this because of one thing
The part about Colin Powell standing in the way of the prosecution. The head of the CIA is George Tenet not Colin Powell. The investigational path goes like this:

CIA then FBI

The organizational structure of the CIA, when an investigation of this sort is underway, does not allow for the Director to make the ultimate decision. This could get passed on to the FBI BEFORE Tenet ever saw it based on ONE phone call by anyone of any authority at the CIA.

Then the FBI steps in with the ability to interview whoever the f*ck they want. And, this stuff is written into the guidelines so if someone tried to bury it the whole thing would look REALLY bad. Remember what I said about just ONE PERSON saying something.

14. Wish I could clear the cobwebs out of the brain, but
somewhere in the last few weeks I've seen (not here at DU or on a website) that the trail is, indeed, leading to Rove. I just assumed that it was now common knowledge. I remember thinking to myself that since this is not just a big political deal but a real deal criminal act, why Rove wasn't in handcuffs and why the Dems weren't screaming bloody murder. Wish I could remember where I was reading this info...sorry.

17. Let's get real
Even if Martin's story is true and Rove is descended from the Nazi oven-makers, do you really believe that we're going to hear it on the mainstream national news. Jeesh!

Do you know what this would do to the economy - to the illusion? Most of us here are long past being shocked, but think what this information would do to the average, ignorant American.

The Wilson case will be handled quietly, out of view of most and it will take another 30 years before we find out the truth.

19. That's the thing
about this Martin story. The way *he* writes it, this thing is about to explode. And he is providing the tantalizing follow-up that we've all been waiting for.

Of course, there is something too perfect about it - and it's difficult to trust anyone who makes you pay to see what's on his website. It's too bad there are media predators on both sides of the political spectrum.....

Yeah - there's nothing from that forum that backs up Martin's new garnishings on the story. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait for confirmation from other sources.

But: if his version is more or less confirmed, and the story continues to develop, I don't see how the major media could avoid reporting it.

Call me a dreamer.

20. Rove has openly admitted he's not to smart about laws and the Constitution
It was in that Rove documentary that was on one of the cable
channels a couple of weeks ago . At the time it seemed pretty stupid
for the top White House Adviser to admit that .
