Bush may address the Canadian parliament. And if he does,
I am looking forward to the reception from NDP Members of the House.

When Ronald Reagan addressed parliament in 1983, some NDP MPs wore black armbands to protest US crimes in Central America, and heckled "He's mad!", "Stop Star Wars now!" and "Shame!"

A similar scene happened in 1972, when Richard Nixon spoke to the House.

Last year, before Bush cancelled his visit, NDP MPs vowed to heckle an address to parliament.

Sorry, George. This is what democracy looks like.

if he's there on "official business".

9. Not necessarily
Diplomatic immunity actually doesn't cover everything, particularly the more serious crimes like murder. And I don't know if the ICC extends immunity- does it?

17. It pretty much DOES cover everything.
Article 29 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations:

"The person of a diplomatic agent shall be inviolable. He shall not be liable to any form of arrest or detention. The receiving State shall treat him with due respect and shall take all appropriate steps to prevent any attack on his person, freedom or dignity. "

There ARE provisions for the "Sending State" to waive diplomatic immunity...such as other countries have done for us in cases of murder.

And there are provisions for the "Receiving State" to refuse diplomatic immunity by refusing to recognize the status of a diplomat or the nature of the diplomatic mission...but they must do so in advance of the diplomatic mission. And THAT will probably send some red flags...

If Canadians do it, I will forever be in their debt.

5. Not only the NDP but the Bloc, too, I bet...
they are totally against the invasion, occupation and slaughter in Iraq. I hope the opposition parties, excluding the faux Conservatives who will be kissing bush's ass, either have a strong protest within the House of Commons or boycott bush by not showing up.

10. That would make 73 MP's.
Nearly a quarter of the house. I'm sure we could add a couple of rebellious Grits to make it a full fourth.

I hope those who object show up and are loud about it. The cacophony would be a beautiful noise.

13. Hope he gets heckled, big time.
He can't make the MP's sign loyalty oaths like his goose stepping followers, so he's wide open here.

Go Canada, give'em Hell!

15. Thanks, Minstrel Boy!
Let PissPants get a dose of real democracy, eh? Our homegrown, gutless pols might even learn something. Uh, no...

Sorry about the Expos moving to D.C. It will just give the idiots another distraction from real issues, and deprives baseball of half of its internationalism. Any word on the NHL?

I hope these guys really let Bush have it, and keep quiet about their plans beforehand (otherwise the chimperor will soil himself and make alternative plans: "Dear Canada, couldn't make it - unka Dick said I had to invade eye-ran today, love Doobie")

21. After they have arrested him for war crimes
They can delouse him, check his mouth for concealed weapons of mass destruction and bring back the death penalty as a tribute to our more blood-thirsty neighbours to the south. Swing him high. Then abolish it again.
