General Wesley Clark: "I am proud to be a Democrat" |
|
Did you hear that? That is the sound of Bush and the Republicans losing their hold on the military vote and hopefully, if Clark does it right, the vote of working class white males.
Clark is an attack right at the heart of the Republican party. Bet that Rove just soiled himself.

4. just thinking of KKKarl |
|
makes me want to vomit. That man may be even more evil than Ann Cunter and Simean Hannity. As a true believer in Christianity and its teachings, the stuff Rove does is completely and totally amoral I wonder how a supposed Christian like Bush can align himself with a man I could see being the Anti-christ's false prophet.

15. Is that word really necessary? |

I mean, seriously. And please don't act like you don't know which word I'm referring to.

9. If Clark is an economic populist |
|
he may as well start sending his things to the oval office. Imagine if Clark made a few strongly pro-union, pro-worker statements. Imagine if he called on corporations and their CEOs to show their loyalty to the United States and keep jobs here and invest in our communities.
If he gets union support, and the support of middle working class whites in general, he will not only win the presidency, but advance the Democratic party ten times as much as any Democratic president since Kennedy.

18. Always remember this about Wesley and economics ... |
|
His post grad work as a Rhodes Scholar was in Economics at Oxford. I suspect that he is perhaps the most seriously grounded candidate in economics that we have ever had the pleasure to pass judgement upon.

19. As long as he's not a University of Chicago, PNAC, Leo Strauss type |
|
If Clark starts pushing "market fundamentalism" or whatever the latest neo-con, neo-liberal nonsense is labeled, he'll just split the party. His public support for progressive tax and the fact he likes health care is a good start. Let's hope he keeps going in that direction.

20. I agree with what you said. It's the right message... |
|
Clark doesn't have to carp on his military career. It's a given. He needs to strongly develope his domestic message. If he does that, he's innnnnnnnnnnnn. :7

I still believe the Dean-Clark ticket would be the one that puts the nails in the BCE's coffin.

|
... but who cares, as long as both names are on that ticket???
OH YEH!!!!
Although, I gotta admit, I like Clark as Sec of State or Defense better than Veep, if he's not running for the top of the ticket.

16. Clark needs an economic populist like Kucinich |
|
If Clark, with all his national security and defense strengths, picks an economic populist as VP and for his cabinent, he would not only win a landslide, but put the Democratic party in the majority for another generation.

he stands for:
Internationalism (meaning he REJECTS the war in iraq) Economic Justice (he's AGAINST the Bush tax cuts) Equality (he's FOR gays in the military) Reasonable gun control ("if you want to shoot an AK47, join the army") and a host of other good, progressive issues that are easily found with a little bit of research.

23. Jason, I'm Disappointed |
|
He finally came out and said what many Democrats, you included, demanded that he say.
How is that playing politics? I can't judge his demeanor since I haven't seen the tape yet, but the transcript read as very sincere.
Of the people opposed to Clark, I expect more from you.

24. A lot of these candidates are "empty suits" |
|
Clark is not one of them. He has a lot more clout for rising up in the miliary, as opposed to say, yet another rich businessman, politician, or lawyer.
