This country is in close competition with Iran. There are mentions of "god" everywhere. At very corner of our streets, on every banknotes, in every anthem, in Court rooms. Everywhere. Believe what you want. That a couple of super-natural specks of sand founded the earth 2 weeks ago for kicks. That's fine by me if that makes you feel better. You can play with it, gather with co-believers and engage in any kind of rituals around it, that's fine. I'd be even interested to hear about it if I want to. But why in the world would you want to make that public? Don't you want to maintain some privacy here? Do you have to broadcast, exhibit really, your stuff all over the planet? About everything? At all times? Do you tell me what your eating habits are, what you do in your bedroom or in your bathroom? No. So why should I know what your fantasy life is like? I don't necessarily care. I don't necessarily want to know. I don't necessarily want to know about your personal debates on the angels' sex, what your book says, or doesn't say. It belongs to you and your co-believers. But, apparently, everyone of you wants me to look at it, to know about it, to take a stand on it, to swallow it, to accept it, to understand it, to talk about it. Whatever. And in the mean time, some co-believers of yours, sitting across the aisle, or next to you, take political power and tells me, or my children, to do this or that, to not do this or that, threatens me of this or that and, not so long ago, tortured me and killed me for this or that. So progressive believers, why don't you keep your beliefs to yourself and strive on them? What's so bad, or so hard, about having your own, private, fantasy life? Can't you put two ideas together without referring to it? If you can't , then don't complain but rejoice! You might be about to win the jackpot. In Iran or here.
