I served in the Military....
I served six years of active duty in the Navy.

It is now time to for all the Bush voters to either sign up themselves or their family members who are of age.

I prefer that you join the Army or Marines but any comabt unit will due.

It is time to stop waving the flag and time to start picking up the rifle!

5. I'd like to see you post this on a Republican blog
Edited on Wed Nov-17-04 10:22 PM by imenja
It bothers me that some so callously risk the lives of others when they won't go themselves--people like Dick Cheney who had "other priorities" during Vietnam.
Perhaps you could post this on some conservative blogs.

9. Oh com'on you think they will PUT THEIR ASS on the line
They could get killed that way...

I share the same feeling you do as a Navy wife and former Medic (not in the US, just let me clarify, but it is the same shit different language)

If they believe in this shit so much, PUT THE FLAG DOWN AND PICK UP THAT WEAPON... I have told them that to their faces. They usually grow silent....

:-)

Oh and I know it is overrated but still thanks for your service

10. You might be surprised at the number of vets in DU, Indiana.
Also at www.veteransforpeace.org
Come the revolution, us pacifists will have the freepers, L-dotters, and Protest "warriors" outgunned 2 or 3 to one.
Hey, and welcome aboard, shipmate! :hi:

11. Well I am not a total pacifist....
Sometimes people think if your a pacifist you are against any war.

I think there is a time and a place for military action.

Iraq was not one of them :)

As a songwriter myself, I could not agree more
with you Indianablue.
You should only write about what is true for you,
and that means writing from experience.

18. Navy vet here...
I also did 6 years in the US Navy -- 1986 thru 1991. As a matter of fact, tomorrow is the 13th anniversary of the day I flew off the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower as she sat in the Persian Gulf.

What a glorious day that was!!

I was in the AF in the VN years but was lucky never had any orders to
bomb people (was/am a pilot but somehow got non-flying assignments back then...a certain General wanted me for 'other duties')

23. Oh YEAH...
Thank you for your service Indianablue.
It is HIGH time that the couch potatoe/arm chair warriors
get their asses over there.
Sweet is war to those who have never been.
Notice that ALL of the people responsible for the
cluster fuck in the ME have NEVER been in combat?
Notice that all the hate mongers on the right wing
web sites that accuse US of NOT supporting our troops
who have been ABUSED by the chickenhawks who put them
in this situation have never enlisted or served?
NOTICE TO ALL THE LURKING RIGHT WINGERS:
GET YOUR ASS OVER THERE so my nephew can come home.

Rant off...

so Indianablue, what part of Indiana?
I grew up in Terre Haute.
WELCOME TO DU!

25. I second that suggestion!
As a fellow vet (US Army 4 years active duty), I fully agree that those who feel the strongest that this war is "keeping us safe" ... "better to fight them over there than over here" and/or "we're bring Democracy to the Middle East"

Yes! By all means go DIRECTLY to your local recruiting office. For those of you chicken-hawks that lament, "Alas I'm too old or not in good enough shape/health to volunteer" FEAR NOT - you can sign up with a number of Civilian War-Profiteer contracting agencies who won't even require you to get a physical.

There, all is ready for your transfer to Iraq. Every chicken-hawk can and should enlist - and/or - sign up to go over as a contractor.

There's no excuse why you too cannot have a direct role in keeping "Freedom on the March."

Rah! :P
