Hillary Clinton Impresses Me More Every Time I See Her
Tonight, both on Larry King Live & On The Record w/Greta Van Susteren.

She is such a sharp and efficient communicator and politician, she is absolutely outstanding. Makes me proud to be an American.

I know a lot of DUers roll their eyes at her and love to make snide comments, but she truly is someone who, I think, deserves our respect and admiration.

3. I agree...she's wonderful. Many democrats tend to...
allow the other side to decide who/what we should be proud of. They have managed to turn the word 'liberal' into a perjorative and vilify Hillary to the point that even some dems hate her. In fact, she is a passionate and devoted servant to her country and has been her entire life. I would love to have her as my President.

6. I think she is a good person

and I wouldn'tmind her jumping into the presidential mix. I hope to see her mop the floor with Pataki, Guliani, or Powell in her senate re-election, which would raise her profile even more. SOme people here screech and scream as though she is a conservative anti-christ from hell! She at least tried to pass universal healthcare, but corrupt dems in the house and Insurance companies stalled the plan. People here piss and moan that it wasnt a single payer plan. I want single payer as much as anyone else, but most peopel fear it and if big business mobilized so heavily against her and Bill's plan could you imagine what they would have done to the Dems if they tried to pass single payer? Not to mention congress never would have gone along with it. She is a strong advocate for universal healthcare which is a LIBERAL idea. She outlined many liberal ideas on children in her book "It Takes a Village" and people even derided it as socialist. She pressured Bill to not sign welfare reform until the 3rd time around when the GOP conceded the worst parts of the bill. I am of the mind that welfare to work IS a good thing as long as people are recieiving the extra assistance they need. She is a strong supporter of a woman's right to choose, she is good on gay rights. She stood up for medicare and against Bush. She is against tax cuts for the rich. This is not to say I don't have problems with her. I oppose the death penalty and she supports it. At least she supports DNA testing first, many Dems dont even go that far. Yes, she did vote for the war- but so did Kerry and Edwards and many here were singing their praises. Bottom line, she is smart and she knows how to actually get some good things done by being bi-partisan.

7. I'm with you
Considering how the chimp is going to be one of the main presenters tomorrow at the library along with all the other presidents, only someone as clever as Hillary could express her willingness toward working with the chimp (just so she'd look like a good sport) and still take a couple shots at him and his presidency. That lady can handle herself, and she's as poised as she is level headed.

8. I think if Hillary debated someone like
Santorum, Frist, or Guliani for the presidency, she would put them on the defensive and totally destroy them. She has charm, they wouldn't want to be seen as attackign a lady, and she is smart as hell and can create a great argument. I do think my top picks for 08 are Hillary Clinton and Mark Warner.

9. One of the smartest politicians on the planet

Woman of the world unite.

We must have a woman President.

If Bush can be president,Hillary sure can. In fact my 5 yr. old cousin could win a debate with Bush.

10. Yeah, it really impressed me when she voted for the AWR...
Edited on Wed Nov-17-04 10:59 PM by UdoKier
...against the wishes of 90% of her constituents.

Also loved her corporate welfare "health care package".

She is smart and competent, but I'm sorry, She's done precious little to win me over.

She could be a great progressive if she put her mind to it.

12. Yes and look how great
anti-war, single payer, department of peace, raising taxes Democrats did in our own primary! I support all of the above but obviosuly the vast majority of our party does not. If someone with those ideas can't even make it out of the Democrats primaries how the hell do you expect them to win nationally?

13. She is not running in any primary.
She is the senator of New York, She is OBLIGATED to represent her constituents. She blew them off. And I certainly would not support her run for the nomination.

Kerry had the exact same position on the war as she did and he LOST.

15. screw her and the president she rode into town on
I despise her.

She has absolutely no idea what an "opposition party" is supposed to do.

She's a female version of Tom Daschle.

She's a DINO and she can go to hell.

18. Sure. Let's include her in the "losers" section
because she doesn't stand a spitball's chance in hell of winning the presidency.

If you want to lose, support Hillary. In fact, if you want to lose, just keep with the status quo of the Democratic Party.

They can't win against Charles Manson, much less anybody else. Bush is the Worst President Ever, and they couldn't beat him? Disgraceful. They should all RESIGN IN SHAME

19. She's maxed out
She'll never go further than senator, unless someone offers her a cabinet post. I can't picture her on a presidetial ticket.

It would bring back too much of the "slick Willie" shit from the Repubs.
