Has anyone seen these "power of pride" bumper stickers?
With the American flag in the background. Didn't someone say "pride cometh before the fall" and "the proud shall be humbled" WTF is the matter with this country? Have any of these dumb-bells even think about what they are doing or saying or do they just think "hey! that's got the flag on it!"

1. The Bible says pride goeth before the fall. Of course our good
xtian 'Muricans conveniently forget about that part.

I couldn't remember if it was the bible that had that quote
Some Christian I am! I knew the bible was the source for the other one. I don't think many freepers get past Leviticas these days.

17. I think that is part of the quote from maybe Proverbs.
It seems to me it is longer but it is the one we always seem to use. I think this right wing group use the Bible to fit what they wish it to mean. I have heard Arabs say that is what is wrong with the Bible. To many people have re-written it.Oh well I guess it is what anyone wants it to mean.

6. I'm not sure I've ever seen an SUV
with anything democratic on it. It's always something for bush or Jesus.

10. Nice, "Power of Propaganda" would be tempting to put on my car
if I was a bumper sticker kind of guy.

5. Your question
". . .any of these dumb-bells even think about what they are doing or saying . . ."

they don't do anything close to thinking which is the whole problem. Somewhere in the last ten years or so there has been a wholesale numbing down of the American public. The rest of the world is right. We have become a nation of ignorant automatons whose brains have been mushed down by television, commercialism and cheap jingoism.

14. I want a few thousand business cards
That say "What about the sin of pride?" on them... not that everyone who is putting those stickers on is fundie, but I bet a lot are. Those stickers drive me crazy. I mean, what are they even trying to say, really? Ugh. The post up-thread about Indiana is right, they were everywhere when we left in September, and I'm sure it's only getting more prevalent.

15. Yes
and somewhere on the internet, I saw a sticker to put on your bumper if those annoy you. It was in the stars and stripes design and said "Hubris".
