Insurgents Not Giving Up
Associated Press
November 18, 2004

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The recapture of Fallujah has not broken the insurgents' will to fight and may not pay the big dividend U.S. planners had hoped - to improve security enough to hold national elections in Sunni Muslim areas of central Iraq, according to U.S. and Iraqi assessments.

Instead, the battle for control of the Sunni city 40 miles west of Baghdad has sharpened divisions among Iraq's major ethnic and religious groups, fueled anti-American sentiment and stoked the 18-month-old Sunni insurgency.

1. Sunni, Shia, Christian and Communist
parties have all boycotted the election process since the destruction of Fallujah.

It must be obvious that the * administration wants nothing to do with a free election in Iraq, It would basically come down to whatever candidate could command the largest number of suicide bombers willing to attack Americans, they'd win in a landslide. :(

2. I'd love to see the voting Iraqi's write-in Saddam.
That would really put Bush's panties in a knot.

4. Write-in?! Shit, he's running!
And as of Sept., he had a 42% approval rating.

5. If anything, I think this will make the insurgency grow
We seem to have gone from losing 1-3 soldiers per day to losing 5-10 now. Way to go George! Pretty soon, I'm thinking the Iraqi women might take up arms. It may be against Islamic law, but desperation has a way of tampering with outdated social codes.
