"Well What about Florida, when Gore tried to steal the election?"
Edited on Wed Sep-03-03 05:29 PM by SoCalDem
I just called the registrar's office to see about absentee ballots..

We leave for Tahiti on Oct 2nd, so we will be gone for the recall:):)

She was pleased as punch to tell me that we could vote early and would not even need the ballot..

I told her we actually WANTED the ballot because it was one small way that we might get our votes to count, that way.. She went off on me about how trustworthy the touch screens were..

I told her that since the republicans so blatantly cheated in Georgia and Diebold put their code online, and how they are financially connected to the corrupt administration,I might have bought that excuse, but since that happened,I would prefer paper.. She shouted at me..

Well what about florida when Gore tried to steal the election.?? That was worse.... Then she hung up on me :)

Made my day!!!

Edited on Wed Sep-03-03 05:34 PM by SoCalDem

10. Didn't she just deny you your rights to vote by not dealing with you?
It looks like they are already tampering with the vote. Who else isn't getting their ballots?

3. I'd report that...
woman to her supervisor. There is no excuse for someone at the registrar's office behaving like that. That was very unprofessional. Someone like that is liable to toss out your absentee ballot when it comes in. You never know.

25. A Repuke public servant? Isn't that SUPPOSED to be an
oxymoron?

Remember, all of us public servants (on the taxpayer's dole) are lazy liberals who wouldn't know how to find our butts with flashlights, a map, and help. ( / sarcasm )

8. When Gore tried to steal the election?
i have been hearing this bullshit for some time now. never mind the thousands of African Americans who were denied the right to vote, never mind the thousands of ballotts that were not counted even though it was in the Florida Constitution to do so, and it alos had precedence on top of that.

How conveniently they over look these and other important questions that have never been addressed by the liburul media.

Republicans are liars, thieves, scoundrels and perverts. How many other elections have they stolen before the 2000 election? We always went along thinking that elections were safe and legal, perhaps Florida was the first time that they got "caught".

If there are any freepers here, I say, "Bring em on".

11. What did you expect?
You were bound to get either strong agreement or disagreement. That Al Gore "tried but failed to steal the election" is as firmly entrenched in Republican doctrine as the opposite is here. Even my own family members are sharply divided along party lines, except for those who have quit the major parties. They're basically saying "A pox on both your houses."

13. I would expect a person in a non-partisan office to say "yeah yeah"
and handle the situation at hand. That's what the moron should have done. If she were customer service in a private company, that would be the expectation.

An ordinary human. You're absolutely right about what she SHOULD have done in an ideal world, but we're not there yet.

23. Doesn't matter. She works in an office where public trust is imperative.
It's not about a "perfect world." Anyone in the work force needs to know proper behavior in dealing with the public. If she worked for me, she'd be in at least an hour long meeting on phone etiquette and customer service as well as learning how to de-escalate an upset not antagonize it further (my file clerks aren't rocket scientists and THEY wouldn't do this)

If she didn't get it...she's be unemployed.

Low wages is no excuse.

The people who serve my fast food make low wages too. I RARELY encounter rudeness.

15. No, that's not entirely correct.
They are not firmly entrenched in this belief. This is the talking point fed to them by Rush Co. , and they know that it's a load of BS. Why do they know? because they can't dispute the facts, and only repeat the mantra, like fanatics that revert to "Jesus loves you" when their argument don't hold water.

I can smell bullshit a mile away, and this little tom foolery is bullshit.

19. I'm not disputing the facts, but there is a symmetry to the controversy
Your comment could appear to an uninformed person as the pot calling the kettle black.

16. This person must be reported.
She has shown herself to be biased with this outburst and could be untrustworthy in the election. I doubt if she will be fired, but a supervisor should sit her down for a talk about what her duties are.

24. Yes or Union workers.
They hate government soooo much and Unions are the devil's tools. Why would one work for either? Why aren't they all CEOs or Presidents of some corporation. I can't conceive of a laborer being republican. It just doesn't work for me.
