Can you imagine what the USA would be like without hate radio and
Crossfire-style "cable news"? As I watched the Clinton library dedication today and both Bush's speaking, I thought we could really be strong if the right wing hate radio was absent from the debate. Just dreaming, I know. What made me write this was the hate spoken by Novak that I noticed when I flipped through the channels a short time ago.

3. I can imagine, because that was what it was like...
...before the immoral, irresponsible Radical RW destroyed the Fairness Doctrine. If we want a world without hate radio, then we need to get the Fairness Doctrine reinstituted.

4. To paraphrase George Bailey
Novak is a warped, frustrated old man. You want to know why this country is so divided? Commentators like him. That's what they foster with their hate speech. And CNN is just as reponsible by allowing him and his ilk airtime thereby legitimizing them.

7. Just shut off the fable news channels...
Since Nov.3, I get most of my news from the web. I've only been tuning into TV news if there's something I really want to see, like Olbermann coverage of vote fraud and the Daily Show. Saves me a TON of grief.

8. Blame the marketing department. Gossip and lies sell.
Subliminal messages used to be illegal. I don't think they are anymore. Karl Rove has spun the heads off the simple minded and too busy to think population in the US.
Once I was once asked in a survey what could improve our educational system and I said "A course in ethics". Not religion or basic 3R's but simple ethics. Aesop's Fables ,The Golden Rule, and principals of everyday manners would help too.
Religion should also be taught at home. If you raise your family to love their neighbors, respect differences, and weigh words with deeds, we may see a better tomorrow.
