"The Machinery Of Democracy Has Been Effectively Subverted"
Edited on Thu Nov-18-04 07:05 PM by Zorra
For Roy, it is not enough to communicate ideas, to write letters to Congress. "We must make it materially impossible for the empire to achieve its aims." She does not ignore elections. But she believes that "Free elections, a free press, and independent judiciary mean little when the free market has reduced them to commodities available for sale to the highest bidder...The machinery of democracy has been effectively subverted."

The Role of Boycotts in the Fight for Peace
Notes on Post-Election Strategy
by Paul Rockwell

After the election of George Bush, it took less than a week for peace activists to reach a consensus: "Stand and fight."
snip----
Weekend protests, Roy tells us, are not enough. "What we need to discuss urgently are strategies of resistance...Gandhi's salt march was not just political theatre. In a simple act of defiance, thousands of Indians marched to the sea and made their own salt. It was a direct strike at the economic underpinning of the British Empire."

"Already the Internet is buzzing with elaborate lists of American and British government products and companies that should be boycotted...They could become a practical guide that directs and channels the amorphous but growing fury in the world."

Bu$h stole 2 elections. He is assembling a fascist police state at this very moment. He has deceived our nation, and forced us into an unjustifiable bloody and expensive war.

He is destroying our country.

Let's take him down. Boycott all things republican.

1. Lead the way, Zorra!
I'm ready to do just that. I'm fed up with these businesses that support the Commander in Theft! It is time for all good Americans to rise up and be the patriots our forefathers were. Our DOLLAR speaks loudly. I won't be donating to Salvation Army because of their anti-gay support, I won't be purchasing from Dell anytime soon, but we need more info....we need to be consumer and political savvy with our money, especially this Christmas season. Afterall, its the only Christian thing to do. MSM better watch out too, I'm fed up with the spoon-fed news....I want Democracy Now & The Nation, they speak the truth and are the ones we can trust....be informed & be forewarned...this is our war.
