4. misguided effort
As a Green, I appreciate that Lieberman supporters feel beleaguered. Greens certainly do too around here, often at the hands of those same Lieberman supporters.

However, the conception of this thread, clearly to illustrate frustration, may only further the simplistic, dualistic political discourse that is at the root of what Lieberman supporters purport to object to (again, when they're not busy doing it to Greens).

It is better to lead by example, preferably with thoughtfulness instead of sarcasm or exasperation.

8. Started out this election cycle....
actually respecting him. Since then he has driven me away steadily. Currently, I dislike him-but hate is not a word I would use about any Democrat.

I just think he (and we) might be better served if he ran on the Republican ticket, is all. I don't get what is liberal about him, other than the stereotype of 'Jews as liberals', which just isn't true in a lot of cases.

16. Asking someone if they advocate violence against Lieberman
isn't the same as advocating violence against Lieberman. It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. Of course it is entirely expected that you would lash out at me rather than then three people who checked that response to the poll. You never fail to amuse and apall.

17. You are the one who posted the advocation of violence
I have absolutely no way of knowing who may have voted for that advocation of violence (with the exception of one person who *claims* to have voted that way).

For all I know you actually voted for a violent act against Lieberman.

I chose not to vote in a poll which advocates violence.

I do not hate Joe, but I do hope that he is not the nominee; his message, especially on Iraq, in wrong for the Party.

But polling us on how much we HATE him, is IMO, WAY over the top.

27. I take great joy in seeing his candidacy fail so miserably.

I also consider it a validation that his message has been rejected by most potential Democratic voters.

I encourage his supporters to get behind one of the candidates who has a chance to win the nomination but I bet many will vote Republican if Dean or anyone against the Crusade is nominated.

I think the Democratic Party would be far better of if he and people like him left the party to for the DLC party or just joined the Repubs al together. The message of the left of center would be less muddy with Neo Con thinking.

28. Let's see, the same 5 guys that hated Lieberman in another poll
because he was Jewish, are the same 5 guys that in this poll say they "hope he suffers a prolonged, painful, violent death."

Out of 30,000 registered users in DU, we have 5 bona fide Lieberman haters, on religious grounds no less. Do those 5 votes provide the basis for dolstein's argument that the animus towards Lieberman in DU is based on anti-Semitism?

I think that you are stretching it a bit!
