What are our troops dying for?
Somebody tell me why are young men and women are dying?

Think carefully. This is not some kind of flame bait. I want to know why our fellow citizens are dying and being burned beyond recongnition and taking 7.62mm bullets in the femur. I want to know why they are being blown up by IEDs and why they are getting shot in the gut by guerrilla snipers.

If you have a REALLY good reason, I'd certainly like to hear it.

I can't think of one. That's why I have carefully arranged to send my sons to a foreign country before they turn 18 so they can be out of the reach of a future President Santorum or President Tom Coburn.

Anyone?

3. The looting of America and the theft of Iraqi wealth. Most of all the
triumph of FASCISM over democracy. I cry for America.

11. they're dying for the wealthy military-industrial complex power-brokers
and PNAC. Money & power.

The power/money elite in America constantly fucks over Americans, and Americans eat it up (or at least half of them do)

I like the boycott response. Buy/spend/use as little as possible. Just think - if everybody did that....stopped feeding the beast.... it would be a different world.

14. They are dying for stupidity. Our country's and their own.
I am having a hard time having any symphathy for the fuckin idiots who are pumping up this war even though we are in it for absolutely nothing.

We had a funeral just a few miles from here. Wanted to put up a big sign at the cemetary BRING IT ON!

This is the feelings I have. Cold hearted. I feel like they (not all) deserve what they get.

23. not cold hearted at all
because deep down you know it could be your kids dead. When these "security moms" realize that security meant they just buried their kid, Bush is gonna be in deep shit. Right now its just the expendable poor folks dying so no big deal to them. Every dem on this board needs to sign up to be on their local draft board so we can do our patriotic duty and make sure every repuke chickenhawk gets the chance to prove his worth and earn a wooden box. It'll be a cold day in hell before I'll ever oil the jaws of the corporate war machine with my babies though. Tough luck repukes, you can fight this war, we dont give a shiite. Bring back fair elections and maybe attack the country that actually attacked us(saudis) and maybe we can talk. But really, if you(the govt) wanted my family's blood you should have hit the right people hard day one and gotten it over with. Instead its been nothing but lies and blunders and if we really need cannon fodder for iraq I dont see why ignorant red state repukes wont due just fine.

Randi said that all the military aged kids who voted for Bush should enlist, so that they can fight his war and leave the rest of our kids alone.

21. For the greatness of the leader.
No leader has ever been great unless he gets a lot of his countrymen killed off. Think about it. I believe that's a tenet of psychohistory.

22. American business interests
Pure and simple. Not just in Iraq, but eventually the whole muslim world. This is the beginning of neocon takeover of a region whose values are an impediment to laissez-faire economics.
