MSNBC: Tax cut, spending caps are rejected
Now the Congress has raised debt limit to $8.18 trillion because the US government is on the verge of defaulting on its debts.

How come the government can spend so much money without thinking about if it can afford it?

Talking about fiscal irresponsibity under the Bush admin! This is not good for the future generations.

Check this insanity out

1. It's just a temporary cover for more neocon
policies.
More aggressive foreign policy.
More tax cuts, twin with more funding cuts for education and social spending.
More money, less infrastructure.
More money for individuals, less for the nation as community.
More politics, less policy-making for sure.

2. Here we go
This is the end of the economy. This type of action will lead to, not a recession, but a depression. This country is going around the bowl and down the hole. I hope those small business men who voted for Bush remember how they got on the street when they are bankrupt. Maybe after they no longer have television and radio, from their poverty, they will finally get out of the hateful brainwashing of the Neo-con movement.

4. I feel the trouble with them is that they do not
think ahead. It is just for today. Maybe they received really good tax cuts and they are happy with that. I agree, we are headed for a recession, and as a senior I will not be surprised if I lose my only income--social security. I was born during a depression and may as well die during one.

5. Sorry to hear you say that.
The problem is that all these deficits are caused by the result of bad government policy under Bush.

8. I agree with you
The US is heading for another depression. Once it hits, I bet the sheeple that voted for asshole shrub will say, "Why didn't the Democrats do something?"

3. And if the world economy is so bad, why is Canada running surpluses and
paying immigrants CAN$40K to move there?

6. Because Canadians are much saner and smarter
than Americans.

They have national health care and sound social protection system for one thing.

10. It's also an easy way to rid the US of the New Deal
The republicans, even the sane ones, have hated the New Deal from the get-go. If the deficit is over the top, what better sense would it make than to cut our nation's social programs?

Remember, Little Bush* said he didn't plan on raising taxes. Well, there's only two ways to combat the deficit... raise more money or cut more spending.

12. Because * and the Neocons are getting ready for another
war, bigger and better than the last two. Sometimes I wonder what these legislators are being blackmailed with. Or, perhaps they are just greedy.

Time for a "what's the matter with you people" protest based on solely economic issues. They don't pay attention to war protests, but we've never protested economic policy in the streets in that way.
