that this will prevent a draft from happening? The only thing that will stop a draft is if enough people enlisting on their own to fulfill the manpower needs of the armed services. Otherwise, they'll draft.

Well, okay, the other impediment is that the military itself really, really prefers a volunteer army. But if that's the only way to get the personnel needed, they'll go along with a draft.

It's a simple matter of numbers.

When you have two draft-age sons, you'll do anything to prevent them from being forced to serve in Bushitler's illegal, unnecessary, totally contrived war follies. If my sons are going to die for their country, it should be because they were DEFENDING it, not because of one lie after another to vindicate a mad man's "reasoning".

I can understand your points and hope that we can make a difference...

but the cancer is bush and his supporters and they are going to make the decision for a draft regardless of what any 'opposition' says, or asks....we are clearly the opposition.

The cancer of bush needs to be removed, and the lies and evil of his supporters needs to be exposed....the only way to change the decisions is to change the decision makers...

So...my point being, that if Bush wants a draft he will get a draft...

Bushitler grew up as a spoiled-rotten rich kid who got everything he wanted -- if he wasn't good enough, Poppy would intercede to make sure he'd get it. He runs this country the same way: It's his way ONLY -- NO discussion. He's not used to being disappointed, which is why he has an obsession with controlling everything -- the media, his audiences at campaign rallies, the CIA loyalty, yadayadayada.

I've gotten the picture of this mad man.

But at least my name will be on record as telling him my sons are not to be used for his corruption. I don't want them sent to any of those 14 permanent military bases that were so arrogantly built in Iraq.

The Iraqis are no more insurgents than we would be if we were fighting invaders to our country. The Iraqis are fighting for their rights to live their lives as they choose: They don't want to be westernized, which is what they fear.
