I look at these pictures and then I look at my kids(ages 6,8,10) and just wonder what the fuck is going on. Am I really supposed to believe that that 10 year old kid poses a threat to my country? I am so sick of people telling me I have to support our troops. I'm fucking done supporting anything we do. I saw this today in CounterPunch: http://www.counterpunch.org/cloughley11182004.html what a barrel of laughs. I tell you what the next time some fucking repuke tells me I'm un-patriotic and I don't support the troops I'm going to take it as a point of pride. Mind you I know there are alot of people over there who don't want to be, I support anyones wish to come home. But I would rather rot in fucking jail for the rest of my life than hurt or kill a child, or an innocent human being for that matter.

Now as to kids being patteed down

Let me tell you an ugly reality which American movies rarely, if ever, show, about combat zones... maybe you should get your hands on the Battle of Algiers, since it DOES SHOW IT, and it shows it.

In combat zones, especially with well organized resistance, kids are used to gather intelligence (they do fly under the radar very well, no Ambrose did not make that one up in Band of Brothers fiffteeen year old talking to the 101st... younger kids, as young as ten have been used for this purpose across the world, hence the scandal of children soldiers.) They are also used for attacks on enemy forces. We have faced this, so did the French and so have the Russians and the Japanese... occupation forces who face this because of the nature of asymetrical warfare. Learn the term, because this is what is going on.

In vietnam, for instance, many five year olds came attached with hand grenades. I bet you did not know this... but they did. Kids as young as three were sent into checkpoints and BLOWN UP by remote control. No this is not propaganda, this is the ugly reality of war, the kind that most Americans cannot wrap their heads around, since the last time we got involved in any of this crap, as in US doing it, was the Revolutionary War.

I know this is not something you want to consider, but you have not been pushed to that extreme. So the troops are back in the same situation they were in Nam... they truly cannot tell the non combatant from the combatant and sometimes the combatant is young and cute and child like.
