LET'S FIX OURSELVES
For all of you would-be flamers, I am one of you who believe that Bush and Company rigged the election. And, I believe, that the American people deserve a recount in all of those areas that are in question. Especially after the last election.

Like many Democrats, though, I am tired. It was a difficult campaign, and I've worked harder (though not hard enough, apparently, and certainly not as hard as some of you have worked) than I've ever worked, in terms of political involvement.

Those of us who are informed enough to know what's going on in this country of ours (and the reality is that MANY of of those who voted Republican are NOT informed, because of the necessity of making a living wage, and the time constraints inherent therein, and I'm not talking about anyone on DU, because if we are here, we are informed, usually) We have a problem, Houston.

And that problem is this:

We are so convinced about the "rightness" of our cause (it DOES seem to be self-evident, at this point), that we do not understand why anyone ELSE does NOT see it. We do not understand why we cannot run on the "rightness" of that, alone. WE would, after all, choose to do what is right and just, and we cannot understand why most people would not.

We forget that we are dealing with people who will take up the symbol of what is good (and that these people DEAL in symbols, for instance: (KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid). We ASSUME that everyone else who wants to "do good" in this world are INFORMED ENOUGH to even KNOW what "good" is, in this world, or what direction to go in, in order to achieve it.

We don't have to fight dirty, guys. But we have to fight smart, and I don't think we are doing that, yet. We need to study how they did it, and do it, better, ourselves. If we have to play games like "Keep It Simple Stupid," or buy consumer information, to target certain people, then let's do it.

We are up against people who don't give a shit about what is right, or what is wrong. They care about MONEY, period. And, what's more, these guys OWN everything, BUT the damned internet!

Please, please, people, write in with your success stories, on the local level! Let's study what winners do, even the Republicans. We have the mid-term elections coming up soon. Let's start our work NOW, and take back the Senate and the House.

I love my country, and I do not want to leave it, but I am deathly afraid that it is going to crumble, within my lifetime, and maybe even very, very soon.

Let's start to fight smart. We are up against a terrible enemy. And the time is growing short for saving this country. If you have studied the history of countries that attempt what we are attempting, you know that what I am saying is true. We will no longer be a superpower, if we continue on our present course.

1. This not a democracy. Messaging isn't the problem.
The election was rigged, so why do you want to do more of the same and try to win it next time? I just don't care anymore I guess.

2. Plenty of battles have been won by people who had no vote
The Indians didn't give up because they couldn't vote. Gandhi led them to independence anyway

The right of blacks to vote was not enforced either, but they didn't give up. MLK Jr led them, they fought for their rights, and they won them.

The only thing your defeatism will do is lead to defeat. Nothing is lost until you give up.

I say we make up a weekly notice to hang in grocery stores all over america. Everyone goes. Keep it simple but inform America ..
Hang them on all of your grocery store bulletin boards.
