3. Well even HE predicted that...

He actually sounds like a nice guy... Not your typical Repuke... He's just confunsed and clueless, that's all... And if he's listening to Randi, he may know it himself...

5. She's surgically tearing this cluesless reuke to pieces.
He's trying to make up lame excuses for the wonderchimps preemptive invasion.
No yelling and screaming, just facts.
Beauty!

7. What More Do You Expect From A Freeper?
They are so mentally challenged that getting up in the morning is a chore.

We should be ashamed of taking advantage of the mentally retarded.

Sarcasm Off/

9. Interesting perspective
This is the opinion a lot of Bush supporters have, actually. The ones that are sane human beings, that is (not the Southern Baptists or billionaires). They are reasonable, sensible, yet also misinformed.

The person said he was interested in foreign policy, and that the war in Iraq was necessary to essentially show our might to the world and scare off those who would attack us. He is wrong, of course, because religious terrorism and attacks by a secular state with a military are two different methods entirely. And the rest of the world does not relate a secular dictator to a religious idealist like Osama, so it certainly appears as though our attack is completely unrelated to 9/11 (because, of course, it is unrelated).

Iraq posed no threat, and certainly nowhere NEAR the threat that Iran and North Korea pose to us currently. Of course, I still don't think we should go marching into Iran (as we have seen the WH push this week), and there is no real objective or incentive that comes with victory in Iraq. Except oil and large contracts for military contractors.

11. She called him out, hope she thanks him
for his willingness to state his reasons for why he voted Bush. If you listened, he responded to every logical argument she made, by prefacing his response with "I believe". It was so repetitious that I had to key in on it. Seems it's not on the republican side much about facts but more about what "they believe".

I'm thinking then there has been a lot of work behind the scenes to reinforce for these folks that if you believe, then you will know to vote * .... followed up with a lot of reinforcing on what is the correct way to "believe".

It's programming, pure and simple, old psych-ops technique/strategy done on large scale and seems it is successful. A defined set of beliefs with enough reinforcement becomes a person's belief that it is their belief. Without the logic, reason, facts others use to support their beliefs, these folks actually believe they are validated because they believe, therefore, if state "I believe" it is understood (in their world) that is the only argument needed. Facts, information, other views, logic, reason...none of that weighs in against "I believe".

Thus, unless there is some serious deprogramming, the programmed will remain blindly programmed, firm in their belief that I believe is all that is needed. And if the rest of us knew what they knew, we would believe too, and we could join the growing movement, citing "I believe" as the alternative to any kind of critical thinking skills.

Oddly, they think we are "programmed" in reverse, blinded to the illuminating truth they have been programmed to believe.

oh I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe and what used to be fringe cults has become the mainstream of our political landscape...I believe some serious programming strategies have worked all too well.
