Decorate your house with BLUE lights this Christmas!
 We always use red, green, and white lights on our house. The red and green need replaced, so we're going to have a BLUE house this year!

The candelabras in the windows will have blue lights. The outside carriage lamps will be lit blue. The trees and shrubs will be twinkling blue and white.

I'm in the process of making blue bows for the wreaths on the windows.

This will agitate the neo-con next-door neighbors to no end!

Let's show our unity! "Don't let the bastards get ya' down." :toast:

58. Oh please...
My point was that they would not be getting the message they want to get across with the blue lights. I don't care if people think anyone's Jewish or not, but if they want to convey a specific message, they should probably go another route because using blue lights won't work.

But your attitude was uselessly inflammatory by saying that such a statement was something one would find over F.R. when you know good and well that's not at all what I meant.

Your comment was beyond rude and uncalled for.

Very distinctive (can tell right away they're not ordinary incandescents). And the bonus is, they use much less energy.

36. Just thought I'd point out - Walgreens is better than Target
graywarrior, just thought I'd point out for those who want to boycott repig donors, Target is not one of the good guys.

http://www.opensecrets.org/industries/contrib.asp?Ind=N03

Target: #4 political contributor in the retail sector. $289,763 - 28% to Democrats, 72% to repigs.

Walgreens: #10. $126,961 - 47% to Democrats, 53% to repigs.

Either of them are better than Wal-Mart: #1, $1,875,557, 19% to Democrats, 81% to repigs.

Which, thinking about this subject reminded me of my mom's neighborhood, where they try to outdo each other in tackiness. I went there last year right after a severe thunderstorm hit, and there was Santa and reindeer and baby Jesus carnage blown everywhere. It was unsettling.

56. I like the idea of progressives using the dove of peace

in decorating for the holidays. I like to use either lots of white lights without other colors *or* all different colors in a fifties-retro kind of spirit, but I'm willing to go with white and blue because of the symbolism of blue. I'm getting ideas already. . .

Reasonably skilled people could *make* a dove in outline form with white lights (so it'll look like a dove and not a bluebird!) I'll tell Mr. DemBones to get right on it! ;-)

The "olive branch" in the dove's mouth could be done in BLUE lights.

**************************************************************************************

It's amazing to me that it's come full circle: I still have my Another Mother for Peace pendant from the Vietnam war and my peace dove silver earrings that a friend who was (and is) a jewelry craftsman and peace activist made for me. All the music still fits, too.

"How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?
Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind."

Woke up and read about the anti-abortion piece tacked on to the spending bill and how repukes didnt' even show up for Daschle's farewell speech. It really laid me low, but this is a great thing to focus on--we're going to go whole hog this Christmas with blue lights and we're trying to think of other meaningful symbols and signs to put up. THANKS!
